Viva_il_re / theonlyis - I am not sure what happened to you. I always had a lot of respect for you, and I always enjoyed the effort you put into doing research, like some of the lists that you created. Those were awesome! I really mean that. I can tell that, at least at one point, you really loved the game, like I do.
I wish you would just stop the rants though. It makes it really unpleasant for all the rest of us who want to learn the new system and have to weed through the barrage of negative posts and personal insults. There is really no need for that. It just degrades the game experience for all of us who are just looking for something fun to do with their spare time. For me, HD is a way to escape the stress of running a business and to relax. I don't watch a lot of TV, and I don't have much spare time, but this is what I do with the little time I have.
I like reading the forums because that is the way to learn more about the game that I really enjoy. But when I read posts like yours, it stresses me out. I don't like a bunch of conflict and name calling, especially when it seems like it just comes out of nowhere, and is unprovoked. And, I have to weed through them to find posts that give me information. And, on a personal level, I just don't like profanity. That's just me. I don't judge people who use it. To each his own. But it just makes my experience unpleasant, personally.
You were banned from the Beta testing after the first day because of all of the profanity and all of the personal insults. And the negative comments started pretty much the minute the forums were put up. I would venture to say that 25% of the comments on the Beta Forums were made by you, and they were pretty over the top because of the way they just degraded the whole process and the developers, and then anyone who had anything positive to say about it. Any time someone would post something positive, you were on there almost immediately talking about how wrong they were, and hurling insults at them.
And, now on the general forum, under a different ID it just continues. Many who are reading this forum are not taking part in the Beta testing and are trying to figure out if they will like it or not. I think you are doing a lot of damage to HD because those who read your posts are not getting a fair impression of what is taking place, in my opinion. Sure, there are some who do not like the change, and they definitely have every right to state their opinion. I respect their opinions and take them into account when forming my opinions. And their feelings may be based on personal tastes, which is totally understandable. They liked the old system and do not want change. But the testing has only been going on for two days, and a lot of people like it so far. I feel like a LOT of thought has gone into it.
For those of you who are not in the beta testing, let me tell you that those of us who are in it are making a ton of very useful suggestions to make the new product the best it can possibly be. Not everything is perfect, but I sense a big willingness and desire on the part of Seble and the developers to really improve the scouting and recruiting process. My big desire is to try to see the game become as realistic as possible, and I think that this update is pushing the game in that direction in a big way. I like it a lot so far. Like I said, we are only 2 days into it, and so far we are only scouting. I am waiting to see what happens when the Northeast camp takes place. We have not even started the recruiting yet. So, I think it is way too early for anyone to say, definitively, whether or not the new release is perfect or that it sucks.
Like I said, I like it a lot so far. On a scale of one to 10, I would give it an 8 or 9 from what I have seen. And, as I mentioned, I do get the sense that Seble is listening to those of us in the test, that make reasonable comments. And there are many long term coaches in it.
I hope if you are not involved in the beta testing that you will not let negative comments cause a preconceived notion about the release.
