At least it looks like I won't fall 1 point short when all is said and done. In some ways that will be easier to swallow, because you look back at some of the ridiculous losses (e.g., mopup only guy left in the 15th inning and you get blown out) and realize if not for that one game ...

I meant this question to be for historic purposes... Clearly, I'm the lowest ranked WS winner this year. In fact, I'm the only one in the bottom half of the standings to win a WS. I'm not sure whether to be appalled at my general lack of drafting/managing skill, or overjoyed at my ability to pick ONE TEAM well....

Just leaving this out there...

I submitted the theme idea for $70M: AVG = OAV.

My team, WISC #1: ME-262 went 102-60 in the regular season and went 11-1 in the playoffs to claim the WS.

jmissirlis submitted the theme idea for $90M: One Hundred Years

His team, Little T's Centennials (18/18) went 101-60 in the regular season and went 11-2 in the playoffs to claim the WS.

I wonder if this pattern will continue if ozomatli keeps accepting good theme ideas from other owners for the WISC...

mjkrunner wins Game 7 and clinches his spot in the second round

contrarian23 can get the last spot if he wins his WS, currently tied 2-2. if he wins the series that would knock out mpitt76. would be very unlucky for mpitt if he doesn't make it, 5 teams with 90+ wins including a 101 win team might not be enough!

That was an unexpected outcome given that my 90M team went 84-78 during the regular season. Just kept throwing Big Ed Walsh out there every other day and it got me into the cage. Had another WS G7 yesterday (140M) against 06gsp that went the other way and necessitated this...

Who would have thought I’d wind up disappointed to be tied with ozomatli?

It looks like division alignment played a huge role in who advances in round 2.

pedrocerrano (531 wins) has TWO teams over 90 wins and gets 5 playoff teams.
jfranco77 (540 wins) has THREE teams over 90 wins and gets 6 playoff teams.

mpitt76 (544 wins) has FIVE teams over 90 wins and gets 3 playoff teams.

We don’t even have Themes for Round 2 yet so that’s a tough one to answer, but in my experience typically the 24 owners that qualify do move on.

Best of luck securing that final spot, you built some really good teams.
