If I'm reading schwarze explanation correctly it's because group A was chosen more than group B.

Interesting stuff. I went with column B. Scientific choice. I was watching Aladdin with my 4 year old and Robin Williams sang "Try all of Column B" in Friend Like Me so I went with it. I think I ended up ok. I only have two low picks where I was the only one who picked them and most of my picks are top 2/3, The two were low IP relievers.

This makes perfect sense. There are fewer teams in Group B. Since the cookie score is based on how many times a player was picked, it has to be lower. To get the scores between A and B to be comparable, divide the score by the number teams.

When you take the average cookie score divided by the number of teams, Group B's number is slightly higher than Group A, meaning that there was less variability in the selections in Group B than in Group A.

I went group B because it had Gavvy Cravath. That was the only determining factor

Really interesting stuff. Curious to see whether a higher cookie score translates to a better record.

I added a tab to the Standings spreadsheet with data on the 255M league. So far, Box A is doing a bit better than Box B. I also ran a regression on the Cookie Score. For Box A, the correlation was slightly positive (higher cookie score = higher winning%), but for Box B, the correlation was essentially zero.

Also, the tab shows that the AL West (lowest salaries) has a better overall win% than the NL East (highest salaries).

Be interesting to see how the Ruth teams are doing overall.
