Opening Day is just a few hours away!

Terrible 3-3 session. Schwarze beat my Coors team 26-7. The team threw 247 pitches. Also, my Elite Eight team lost 4-3 in 14 innings The team threw 214 pitches. It's early, right?

7-11 start for me. Hardly auspicious.

In the $160M league, though 3 games, both me and my opponent have averaged 158 pitches per game. Eyeballing the other boxscores around the league and that seems to be about average. That equates to about 1,713 innings needed to be drafted. I'm at 95% of that number so hopefully that keeps me out of the death spiral.

Does that 1,713 account for the 10% boost? I drafted 1,602 IP, which is only 93.5% of that and maybe puts me into concern range. I was kind of counting on my mopup throwing a lot more than 30 innings, though.

My 1,599 IP is 93.3%, but I have three factors in my favor. One, my cumulative erc# is the best in the league. This is due to me not drafting a mop up but it’s still very good. Second, I drafted high strikeout pitchers which gives me a higher number of extra innings even if I don’t have a lot of actual strikeouts. Third, I’ve improved at managing pitching staff fatigue. So I think I’ll be fine.

the high strikeout pitchers are like an extra 10 if most of the hitters are contact hitters.

If my R1 performance was a pleasant surprise, R2 is shaping up as a highly unpleasant reality check.

And a Mauch completes a really horrible day at the races ... 3-15. Competing for last place now.

A much better 13-5 today takes some of the sting away. But I've still got a big hole to dig out of.

The standings are so tightly packed, a 1-5 can move somebody up or down quite a bit. Sadly, I have experienced a number of 2-4 and 1-5 sessions recently.

I have climbed over .500 for the first time. Small steps, but it feels a lot better being in the middle at least.

I should take a picture of the standings. It won't last.
