Munson World is heading into the World Series in our current season. But, I wanted to get ahead of the game in recruiting. We have everyone back next season except for 2 current owners. It is a friendly, competitive and drama free world and would love to have you join. With 30 of 32 owners returning, you can see it is an enjoyable league. The 2 openings are in the American League. One franchise was abanandoned mid-season and one owner has too many franchises. Take a look at both summaries and if you'd like to RSVP your spot, we will probably roll over in about a week and we could get started immediately if we find 2 new owners.

AMERICAN LEAGUE options in Munson for Season 59:

AL East Franchise (formerly Tampa Bay): This franchise was abandoned in mid-season and finished 52-110 and last in the division. A new owner came in and was overwhelmed with the game. They had incomplete rosters for the first 60 games or so and it took intervention to get rosters back to normal for the rest of the season. As a result, they struggled in most major team categories. They were last in team pitching ERA, due to exhausted and overused pitchers and 14^th in fielding percentage. Offensively, they were 2^nd to last and last in batting average and runs scored. Fortunately, they will have only 5 players signed for about 38 million next season and 4 of those are on option contracts. They have 3 players headed to arbitration. So, some roster flexibility is there to send this franchise in a new direction. They will have the 3^rd pick in the draft. They could use a steady hand to right the ship.

AL West Franchise (formerly Salt Lake City): This franchise has had good success recently, including finishing 97-65 this year, good for second in the division (but also 2^nd best record in the AL). They qualified for the playoffs for the 8^th consecutive season, won a first round series and lost in 5 games in the division series to the #1 seed. They were steady in most team categories. More pitching minded, they were 3^rd in team ERA during the season. They were middle of the road in other categories, including 8^th in fielding percentage, 7^th in team batting average and 6^th in team runs scored. After a lengthy rebuild earlier, they now have a stable of veteran players in the midst of their contracts. Therefore, they have a healthy payroll of 16 players under contract for nearly 100 million next season. 3 of those have options. They also have 5 players ready for arbitration. So, some payroll juggling could be in order next season. But, they are ready to win now. They will have the 28^th pick in the draft.
