Mantle - Season 71 (Filled) Topic

We are recruiting for Season 71 and looking for some good experienced owners to join us! We have two exciting openings below including a team with a perennial Cy Young candidate who is only 25! Mantle is a great, long established world that sims at the top of the hour and has a very small wait time between seasons. When you join, you can expect short turnarounds between seasons and great competition.

Mantle Private World Rules
Rule #1: We have a minimum win requirement(MWR) of 55/120/185/260. Meaning that you must win a minimum of 55 games each season, or 120 games through 2 seasons, 185 through 3 seasons, or 260 over a four season stretch. Midseason replacement owners are exempt during the season in which they assume control of the franchise. The following season they would be required to meet the world minimum. The penalty for not meeting the MWR is as follows. The first offense will cause your franchise to receive a penalty for the following season. This penalty requires you to set your prospect budget no larger than 8 million for the season and it must remain at 8 million or less for the entire season. If you fail to set your prospect budget at 8 million or below, you will be notified by the commissioner of the violation. You must then transfer enough cash from your prospect budget to get it to the required 8 million or less. Failure to comply to the commissioner’s request within 48 hours of the notice being sent out will be cause for removal from Mantle world. A second violation of the stated MWR will be cause for removal from Mantle world.
*
Rule #2: All franchises are required to maintain healthy pitching staffs and lineups at all levels. If you have multiple minor league pitchers with a zero fatigue within the same level(Rookie-AAA), you will be asked to make corrections. You will be given 1 week to make corrections. If corrections are not made within a week, you will again be reminded of the fatigue issues. If the fatigue issue goes uncorrected for more than 1/3 of the season(54 games), you can be removed from the world. The intention is not to kick out owners over this rule, but to make sure that you keep a properly stocked minor league system and fix issues that come up.
*
Rule #3: The amount of cash received in a trade can not exceed the total amount of salaries being received in that trade at the time in which that trade is scheduled to be completed. If a team is in violation of this rule, then the trade should be vetoed by the other owners of the world and the trade should be resubmitted so that the cash amount is less than the salaries. If the trade goes through and the amount over exceeds $250,000, then the amount over must be returned to the original team by trading a low level player for the cash.
*
Rule #4: We are all here because we enjoy playing a game. To make sure that Mantle World continues to be a world that owners want to participate in, we will show respect to our fellow owners. There will be no personal attacks in the world chat or any other form of communication between owners. If an owner continues to make comments about another owner or topic within the world after being asked to stop, then that owner shall receive a warning from the commissioner. If the owner continues to make comments to another owner or in world chat about the subject he/she was warned about, they can be removed from the world.

AL East
Baltimore (73-89)
Baltimore has a stable of young talent including one of the best pitchers in the league in Miguel Vega who is only going to be 25 years old in Season 71. OF Ricardo Alomar is only going to be 24 years old. Troy Maybin is a solid two way catcher with only 2 years of service. This is a team that isn't too far from making noise as a playoff team. Rodrigo Troncoso helps man the bullpen and also only has 2 years of service.

In the minors, there are some exciting young prospects. 9th overall pick from this last year, Renyel Vega could be a nice two-way player with a lefty bat, 6th overall pick from last year, Stephen Difo is an exciting lefty power bat, and 2nd overall pick Robel Forsch from the Season 68 draft can start at 2B in the major. Baltimore had a couple of exciting IFAs in the last few seasons: Omar Baez could be a great power hitter at DH or C and Yangervis Marquez is a solid future reliever. With either the 9th pick in the draft this season, there is still room to grow the prospect pool and make this team a winner.

AL South
St. Louis (74-88)
St. Louis is a franchise with some talent to build around, including Raul Pulido, who is an absolute monster and coming off a season where he finished 2nd in MVP voting. They have two fantastic bullpen arms in Neifi Fontana and Arodys Severino but need to fill out their rotation to take the next step.

St. Louis has started to acquire some prospects to help with the future. Top prospects include 1B Alfredo Bravo, DH Dan Schneider, SS/IF Manny Diaz, C Rougned Terrero, CF Jason Davis, C Dennis Lorenzen, P Danys Flores, and P Miguel Flores . They are slated to have the 10th or 11th pick next year, so there's the opportunity to add to their prospect pool.

NL West
Kansas City (51-111) - currently reserved
Kansas City was run by the former commissioner of Mantle for 42 seasons who is stepped down a couple of seasons ago. The owner in Season 70 didn't add a lot of long-term contracts and the team struggled it's way to the #1 pick. What that means for you is a rebuild with a head start and not a lot of long-term money to commit to.

Their #2 overall pick this year was Rich Riefenhauser who has the potential to be a future ace and their #33 pick Orval Miller is a good defensive CF prospect. They also signed IFA closer prospect Alex Chen to help the bullpen. Their #2 overall pick last year was Ernie Franco who has the potential to be a monster hitter soon. The 10th overall pick from Season 68, Orlando Fernandez should be a nice middle of the rotation or better pitcher. The 8th overall pick from three seasons ago, Dioner Querecuto should be a nice hitting catcher who is ready for a callup to the big leagues soon. Some other prospects include SPs Buster Steele and William Talley, closer Polin Grandal, IFs Tyler Riggs and Julio Cedeno. This is a great rebuilding spot that already has a pool of talent to start from.
