The Maple Creek Hawks had a hard time choosing from the next bunch of top players (hoped that Jean Ratelle would slip to 4th), changing their mind at the last instance having calculated the average salary, and going with one of their favourite all-time players, am glad to announce the acquisition of.... RW Yvan Cournoyer!!!!

The Kamloops Kangaroos of the newly-founded Canadian Whiskey League have made their selection. Though he hasn't got the highest ceiling out there (especially compared to Orr and Esposito), he has good longevity. Scouts also rave about his intelligence and it is said there may be a possibility of him returning to coach the Kangaroos upon his retirement. OK, I know we've had some discussion on the issue, but no firm ruling. I'll step in now and say we're putting a restriction on goalies. Teams may only draft one goalie.
