A great non-conference season for the CAC, with 4 undefeated teams (including a SIM), the customary #1 conference RPI spot, and 5 ranked teams, 4 in the top 8. 10 teams in postseason contention going into conference play. The real question is, can any of us do any damage in the NT?

We are due for more postseason success.  Let's make it happen.

Yeah, with that crazy of a noncon record, you'll put 8 or 9 into the NT, no question.

Here's the formula result.  We're all bunched in the middle except York and The Thumpers and Koop's boys.  We'll see if the formula is wrong on that.  It's about time to revisit the formula, designed in much simplier, prepotential days.

Strengths: Passing, youth, athleticism.
Weaknesses: SRs, Perimeter shooting after Paille, Interior defense and stamina.
Outlook: 13 seed.
Improvement highlights: Check out Walters improving 3 points in the last season.  Total.  Allen coming along as a PG.  Swarey's rebounding (+11, 84 as a Sophomore)
Freshman:  Leaf by Noggle is a very nice byproduct of the recruit tweak to make monster developing SFs in D3.  There are several in the conference; we'll see if they regress to the mean in future years.  Herbert's LP starts nice, but duned to stay there.  The rest of his profile is coming along nicely.

Salisbury: 4-9, RPI 87.

Strengths: WE (except Sloan), athleticism.
Weaknesses: Backcourt speed, rebounding, BH.
Outlook: RPI in the 110's.
Improvement highlights: Coffey's +7, 77 REB, Roy's +5 in SPD/PE
Freshman:  Sloan is terrible and needs to be cut.  1 WE without ability to contribute from day 1.  The other two are quite useful and address team weaknesses: Gibson brings good board work and a low, but Green LP.  Harper brings some much needed PG SPD (60, +4).  As a troika, they also reference 3 80's movies appropriately: Sloan obviously has taken more than 1 "Day Off"; Gibson is pretty much a Sure Thing for minutes, and Harper is like Dolly Parton, stretched as a star but with some top level attributes.

Gallaudet: 5-9, RPI 192.

Strengths: Rebounding, SR G's.
Weaknesses: 2 walk-ons, no dominant player (the fast G's can't shoot, the REB bigs can't score, the good LPs are low ATH), underperforming.
Outlook: RPI in the 130's.
Improvement highlights: Baldwin and Zeldman's rebounding, Florio, in general, but specifically PE
Freshman:  Manahan is +8 in PE through 13 games.  That's sky's the limit, I guess, no maximum feasible misunderstanding about it.  Dedelman needed a true PG recruit in this class to help for next year.

Strengths: Overperformance to date, FR G development, ST/rotation of bigs, interior passing.
Weaknesses: Interior scoring, youth.
Outlook: PIT mid seed.
Improvement highlights: +8, 60 REB, +6, 63 LP for RS FR Rogers.  If the recruiting engine hadn't changed before this year, he'd be poised to be the best big in the conference in 3 seasons.
Freshmen: Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... George Elser and the 4 Guards!  Elser brings 71 (+4) REB to the table and with his WE/minutes should get to 20/20 on ATH/SPD.  Immoble, but worth it.  The guards have 2 monster offensive players (McKinney [already +9 PE] and Danny "Smokin" Newport) who are defensively bad and two good offensive players who are defensively indifferent; I wouldn't have minded a SF or a defensive stopper in instead of 1 of them, but the group will be hard to match up with.

Strengths: Overall SPD/ATH (highlighted by Molden), LP depth.
Weaknesses: Lack of BLK, no 80+ RED, Guard defense.
Outlook: 3 to 5 seed in NT.
Improvement highlights: Moore, Lukes getting to 80 LP, Bowers getting 5 to 8 in SPD, ATH, P, BH, PE.
Freshmen: 1 G, 1 SF, 1 Big.  I love Alderson's development; just a beautiful G.  The SF has all sorts of growth, but the PE will never be elite.  I like Noggle (CUA) and Noel (VJ-RIP) better, but he's so much better than the last generation of potential SF's.  I'm not down on Downs, but he probably will join the Marymount ranks of well rounded bigs with sub 80 REB.

Strengths: Starting 5, ATH, SPD,3 70+ PE, big man depth, G FT shooting.
Weaknesses: Lack of DEF stopper, no 80+ REB, big man FT shooting.
Outlook: Final Four or this year is a disappointment.
Improvement highlights: Wood's ATH +14, 86/SPD +7,64 are ridiculous, Lawrence picked up 11 SPD, 10 PE in a RS year, Taylor got 9 or 10 in ATH, SPD, REB, DEF, BLK.  In short: Rogue has figured out this potential thing.
Freshmen: Gilland is a beast, a true SG.  Jones will be hard to keep up with as a FR/So, but his low potential LP and lack of SPD will make him merely very good as an upperclassman.

Strengths: Not terrible for a Sim AI; Passing, ATH of bigs.
Weaknesses: 3 walk ons, PE, REB depth.
Outlook: RPI between 180 and 220.
Improvement highlights: 8 reb points for Mosby gives hope he might get to 70; Boyd continued well-rounded improvement.
Freshmen: The 1 FR is a G with decent and improving skills and 55 SPD (though apparently red).  It's not a profile worth tomb raiding for, but for a Sim AI is practically an All-American.

Strengths: ATH/SPD of bigs, 1 monster rebounder, G ATH
Weaknesses: Some worrisome DU's, REB depth, only 1 50+ PE.
Outlook: 3 to 5 seed.
Improvement highlights: Fishers 59 OVR, nicely distributed, Roth getting to 72, +7 in ATH, 91, +8 P for Delaney.
Freshmen: There have been 2 US presidents named Harrison; the question if we will have a CPOY in a couple of years.  Stephen's profile as a FR is ridiculous.  Brooks' is almost as good as a SG, right there with York's stud.  Both solid A+ recruits for any school.  Holt is a classic Hood big, more ATH than REB, a solid player.  With the right SF next year (it also has "Fast Car" Chapman's a RS FR who this Gave Me one Reason to mention), this team has a multi- year Final 4 core in place.

Strengths: Sites' SPD/PE/ST/FT combo, PG SPD, bigs ATH, LInares' 80/80 in REB/LP
Weaknesses: REB depth, only 2 PE's >55,only 1 LP > 55
Outlook: 4 to 7 seed.
Improvement highlights: +11, 70 on Byfield's REB, Coop's SG categories boost, +9 REB for Erbstein; setting up a bookend of likely 50ATH/80 REB guys.
Freshmen: The upsides of Governor Williams SPD/ATH (+6/+7) and McFarland (who has published a +6 on PE) are impressive. "Jackson" Scholz has doesn't have the all around upside of some of the other FR SF's but has picked up in LP and PE (+3, +3).  Johnson is 50 (+5) in REB and will struggle to get to 70, but picking up +4 in LP and PE makes for the interesting shooting PF possibilities that have been promised.

Strengths: 7 bigs provide REB depth, 3 guys 54+ in SPD and PE, BLK, Cardwell's 99 ST/P combo, WEs
Weaknesses: No real backup SF, P besides Cardwell, FT shooting
Outlook: 3 to 7 seed.
Improvement highlights: Merry Christmas! Here's the +8 SPD/PE for Noel you asked for!  +8 BLK for Manners will encourage him to be rude in his lane.
Freshmen: Save the trees!  The three recruited FR are all already 70+ REB.  Penick's the King's X factor with sub 5 ATH and DEF.  With 2 SR G's and 2 JR G's, not getting at least 1 was an odd decision.  The presence of some relatively low WE but serviceable FR in the pool make a deep run to help prestige to land on this offseason paramount.

Strengths: 3 essentially 60SPD/60 PE SG's, 56% shooting for the year (even if it isn't explainable, it's got to be called a skill at some point), REB depth, SPD of bigs
Weaknesses: BH, WEs, G's LP
Outlook: 2 to 4 seed.
Improvement highlights: Morgan's lack of development (I guess low WE caused), Wyatt's SG skill development, Clark's +8, 98 REB, +6, 73 LP, and +9, 93 ST.
Freshmen: Has this Ford driven lately?  Ford looks to have good upside in all the G categories that matter most (SPD, DEF, BH, P, PE), but none of them with huge gains.  Long Live Cool needs to get to 30 PE to be a star, but might get their by the end of his junior year.  Nice class of 2.
