The WhatIfSports.com college football simulation engine is on a roll. After accurately picking the winner in 78.8 percent of FBS games in 2012, it set a new personal best in 2013, correctly picking 79.8 percent of FBS games. For AP Top 25 games in 2013, our engine boasted 80.7 percent accuracy. It also finished the season with a 12-4 record in the Game of the Week pick and a 9-5 record in the Upset of the Week pick.
But no time for reminiscing. Our engine is ready to tackle the 2014 campaign. We've adjusted for the latest conference realignment and added three new schools - Appalachian State, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion - to the computer's workload. Every Monday throughout the college football season, we'll offer predictions for every FBS game and rank all 128 teams.
We're kicking off the prediction fun by "playing" the entire FBS schedule and generating predicted records for every team, as well as predicted standings for every conference. We're highlighting the major conferences with full schedule predictions for each team and analysis provided by CollegeFootballNews.com. Finally, on Tuesday, August 26, we'll release every FBS conference's predicted final standings and records.
Our 2014 College Football Conference Previews and Projected Standings schedule is as follows:
- Monday, August 18 - ACC
- Tuesday, August 19 - Big 12
- Wednesday, August 20 - Big Ten
- Thursday, August 21 - Pac-12
