I know he sits well with the sabermetric group, but has he done enough with the general stats posse  to merit consideration by the current group of voters?

No way.

Lay off the crackpipe, freak.

If it's a catcher, its Posey.

It's gotta be Braun. Dude's year was amazing and easily better than McCutchen, the only other real contender.

For what it's worth, SI picked Molina.

The only way Molina breaks into the top 3 is if the voters hold Braun's overturned drug test last year against him.  Otherwise it's Braun, 'Cutch, and David Wright.

His positive test was funky.  Unless his natural testosterone level is low for an adult human female, if he had enough synthetic testosterone in his body to produce the ratio he tested at his heart would explode in a week.

Posey. Braun's a cheater and gonna be watching the playoffs at home. McCutchen's numbers have dropped off and the Pirates are sub .500 again. Posey's the second best defensive catcher and has 24 hrs and over 100 rbis in AT&T park.  And for all the numbers geeks, his + stats lead the league while he has to play behind the plate.  Yadi's numbers are just below Posey's with superior defense, but he plays in the Central where he never sees a pitchers park.

Also, Posey would throw out more runners if his pitchers would hold runners better. IMO

Maybe so, but he still wouldn't be close to Molina defensively.  Nobody not named Wieters is in the same stratosphere as Molina defensively.  Yadier may be the best defensive catcher in the history of the game; I'd put him marginally ahead of Pudge Rodriguez, and Pudge marginally ahead of Bench.
