I can read. I want you to tell me the question you wanted an answer to that supposedly took me 4 hours to answer.

Oh my god you guys are the worst people at discussing anything in the history of the world.

The bottom line is it is much harder to replace an elite DH than people are making it seem. You can get big names to play that role late in their career, but that doesn't mean they're elite producers.

I did. You asked a question about the defensive value of a CF vs. a DH and I answered in 10 min later.

Look, if a hitter had twenty more hits per year over a 15-18 year span, that seperates two players.   Walking does not.    BW created 22 more outs per 700 PA.   EM walked 21 more times per 700 PA.   IOW, when he wasn't too frozen with fear to swing, EM got one more hit than BW per 700 PA.    WOW!!!!!   He's the bestest ever!!!!   Bestest Designated Walker ever, that is.

By Edgar Martinez standards, here's the best PH in the history of baseball:

For those who aren't interested in reading all this, here's another breakdown per 700 PA(roughly a full season):

Williams:  H 180, 35 2B, 4 3B, 22 HR, 83 BB
Martinez:   H 181, 41 2B, 1 3B, 24 HR, 104 BB

For those who've used "massive" and "significant" in relation to the offensive edge Martinez had, please feel free to point it out.     If you're having trouble, I'll help you.   It's something that happens when you don't swing the bat.

Yea, I'd argue the additional slugging and the 21 walks is significant.  Would you say there's a significant difference between a .265 hitter and a .300 hitter? It's 20 hits over 600 atbats. Unless it's your point that walks are insignificant.

Walks aren't as good as hits but I think people still underestimate the value of a walk.  About 70% of all hits are singles and about 70% of all singles advance runners exactly as much as a walk would (primarily because bases are empty so often).  So a walk is as good as a hit right about 50% of the time.  In 2012 (only year I looked at), a walk was as good as a single 99%+ of the time when bases were empty (no surprise) but still 40% of the time when runners were on base.  Those 20 additional walks each year by EM are equivalent to about 14 singles.  Maybe a touch less since I am spitting out league averages and EM and BW would both have men on base in front of them a little more often than the average player because of their teams and where they hit in their lineups.

Probably not.  I'm not sure what the appropriate ratio of defensive outs to hitter reaching base is.  Please, enlighten me!

Your turn . . . who provides more defensive value to a team . . . a center fielder or a designated hitter?

It's a simple question, but take your time.  Phone a friend if you wish.  Ask your dog.  Consult a psychic.  Crack open a fortune cookie.  Wherever you feel that you need to go to try to get the correct answer.
Obviously a center fielder has more defensive value than a DH. I don't think anyone has said otherwise.
It was actually 18 minutes. Not 10.
