The Baseball Think Factory has tallied actual HOF ballot's as writers release them online.  If these totals hold true, this could be a tremendous HOF class to go along with the 3 managers elected by the Expansion Era committee.

Seeing the %'s of the up-dated vote tallies, is interesting (of course) -&-,
quite simply makes me wanna' point-&-click, & cast some votes, as well.

Considering the "poverty" lines, below Biggio, & Mattingly (-where even
PRose appears as a write-in), eye remain impress'd by an accuracy that
would mirror my votes, too...

No matter what, should the voting hold-up to it's current placements, eye
also cannot wait to see Alex Rodriguez fall below the "poverty" line which
would also deny him access to the Hall-Of-Fame... It's sweet justice which
also validates why others below Biggio, won't impress enough voters...

Forever, man !!!... Am for any Commitee design'd to keep 'em OUT, period.

Glavine seems to be getting much more support than most people in these forums believe he should. Glad to see it as he should easily get in on the first try.

They just posted another update with 5 additional ballots and Glavine, Thomas, Biggio all got slight increases in % & Maddux remained at 100%.

edgar has dropped by almost 50% from previous years. I wonder how many ballots have all 10 votes cast?

If you look at the first 10 players on the list, other than Jack Morris, all those players have legitimate HOF cases and in most cases, should be 1st ballot HOFers.  Morris will undoubtedly receive support only because it's his last year on the ballot, but let's say a voter leaves him off and votes for the first 9 players on these rankings. 

That leaves 1 spot for Trammell, Schilling, Mussina, McGriff, Walker, Edgar, McGwire, Kent, Sosa, or Palmeiro.

The 10 vote limit has to be abolished before any meaningful voting reform takes place.

Hall of Fame is just stupid.

If the players were able to play on the field, their excellence on the field is what should be judged. 

This standard was set in the very first HOF vote when a deplorable turd like Ty Cobb was in the class.


Hall of Fame should mark excellence, yes.  Can mark comendable people, sure.  But also mark history.

Put in Pete Rose.  Put in Marvin Miller.

HOF is just stupid.

10 votes should be plenty - the only way the voting ever gets "fixed" is we get consensus on how to handle the steroid era and everyone abides by it.  And since so few guys from that era either have hard proof of use or have confessed, that's probably never going to happen unless the consensus is to not worry about it.

There's nothing wrong with voting for only 5 or 6 guys if you think only 5 or 6 guys are worthy,

My problem with HOF voters is the guys who refuse to vote for somebody their first time on the ballot as a matter or principle.  Those guys should have their voting rights revoked.
