As I said.....I'd like to see my #4 hitter swinging the bat and driving in runs rather than stand there with his bat frozen to his shoulder.

As I said....

You dwell on 6 words in a 70 page thread.   Over and over and over again, I said I like to see my hitters actually hit. 

Nonetheless, I'm not doing another 150 pages(the other EM thread was just as long) on a player who will never sniff the HOF.   As he shouldn't.

It went like this:

You said it.
Several people said, "hey, that's dumb."
You tried and failed to defend it over and over again.
Argument continued.

If, after a couple posts, you say, "you know what guys, you're right. It's clearly dumb to complain that a guy with a career .312/.418/.515 line walked too much. Forget I said it," there's nothing to argue over for 70+ pages.

Ironically, Edgar's '96 and '97 Mariners - right at the height of his walky prime, 2nd and 3rd highest OBP seasons of his career - are 2 of only 4 teams since 1995 to lead the American League in runs WITHOUT leading the league in OBP.
