According to WFXT's source, Hernandez, the victim and two other men were together at a Boston bar on Monday, the night of the killing. The four left the bar in a car driven by Hernandez, according to the source, who added that a text message sent by the victim confirmed that Hernandez was the driver.
The source also said that just three men returned to Hernandez's house in North Attleboro, Mass., near the Rhode Island border, and that the victim was not one of the three.
The state medical examiner on Wednesday identified the victim as Odin Lloyd, 27, a semi-professional football player in the Boston area. His body had been found Monday in an industrial park near Hernandez's house. Lloyd was ruled a homicide victim, the office of Bristol District Attorney Samuel Sutter said.
