Huge game from the Buckeyes.

Alabama v. LSU is boring.  Neither teams looks great, though some nice defense on the whole.

Will you finally put Bama in your final four?   Or are you going to put someone in over them?

Obviously, my final 4 will not change this week.    Although I'm hoping Bama soulcrushes Miss St so I can put the Horned Frogs in.

As for Auburn, you can't give up 41 and complain about an ill-timed snap costing you the game.

NEBRASKA IDLE AND MOVIN ON UP!

I had Alabama 5 last week.  Auburn lost, so yeah that moves Alabama up to 4.

I have

1. Miss St.
2. FSU
3. Oregon
4. Alabama
5. TCU
6. Arizona St.
7. Baylor
8. Ohio St.
9. Nebraska

After that I'm not sure it matters at this point as I don't think a 2 loss team gets in this year (and I don't think Duke will get in even with 1 loss, even if they beat FSU so I don't have them ranked, though it would be way down the list).
11/9/2014 9:36 AM
1 Miss St.
2 FSU (it would suck if they are in the playoff there are some great teams this year and they are not one)
3 Oregon
4 TCU
5 Bama
6 Arizona st
7 Baylor
8 Ohio St
9 ole miss
10 Michigan st

if baylor wins out they will have head to head over tcu. do you put them in despite how amazing tcu looks?
and unless everyone starts losing i think path to playoffs is obvious- Florida st, tcu, (oregon/arizona st), bama/miss st
if florida st losses then ohio st is in and if bama and miss st. each lose one i still think it would be miss st

I think Baylor/TCU is the interesting one.   IMO, TCU is the better team.   Baylor scored 21 straight, I think, to beat TCU 61-58 then lost to WV in Morgantown the next week.   That's a tough venue.   Yet TCU was half a dozen spots ahead in the committee rankings.   It would be hard to justify moving them ahead of TCU because TCU looks legit.

I'd love to see a TCU/Oregon playoff game.   Then Bama/FSU because I think Bama would expose them as posers.

mikeT what did you think of last nights game i thought it was filled with horrible play calling i mean they had 10 straight passes at one point in the first half and they looked horrible until 40sec and ot. I hope i see a different team next week or we're going to get blown out.

I watched more TCU/KSU but, IMO, LSU isn't as bad as we painted them earlier this season after Auburn lit them up.   Their other loss was to Miss St.   That out of the way, I think LSU's young D has matured and gotten much better.   But, if I have Yeldon, he gets more than 15 carries.    I don't see Bama getting blown out.  Or losing to Miss St.

Of the teams outside the top 8, Auburn seems to be the one most likely to work it's way back in.   They have games against GA and Bama.
Ole Miss only has Miss St and they're not jumping that many teams.  And I don't think they're that good.
Nebraska, if they won the B10, might be able to get in if a few things in front of them happen.
MSU, KSU, UCLA, ND are done.

I wonder how the committee would treat Duke if they won the ACC at 12-1.
11/10/2014 2:20 PM
I could see 1 loss OSU/Nebraska leapfrogging TCU/Baylor.   No championship game and Baylor would be conference champ if both win out.
11/10/2014 2:29 PM
Duke's only shot is being the last remaining 1 loss team (aside from FSU who they would have just beat) for a spot and then frankly that still might not be enough for some of the potential 2 loss conference champs.

So something like Mississippi State wins out thereby ensuring the SEC only 1 team.  One of the Big 12 teams separates so they only get 1 in.  And then either the Big Ten or Pac 12 ends up with a 2 loss champion (like OSU or Nebraska loses one of the final 3 and then wins the conference and out west Arizona State loses to Arizona and then whomever wins the tiebreak in the South beats Oregon in the Pac 12 title game).  So the playoff would be 1. Miss St. v. 4. Duke and 2. Big 12 v. 3. Big Ten/Pac 12.  Even then it still might not be enough for the Dukies, but that would be their only real shot.

That doesn't seem right.   If they're treating some of these games like elimination games and continue to put FSU at #2, it seems like Duke could jump a bunch of 2 loss teams by removing FSU from the ranks of the undefeated.
11/10/2014 4:32 PM
Duke? Why was Duke brought up? Duke could beat FSU 100-0 and they still wouldn't deserve to be in the top 4.
