I love the low cap leagues. A $60m league produces stats very close to what the player produced in real life.
Plus ALL teams have weaknesses. You just can't afford to buy premium players at each positon. Kind of like a real life team (Unless you're a Yankee fan, of course). You have to decide what strengths your team will have, and what weaknesses you can live with... Do you want to focus on HR's? It's possible with a 1930-present team. Is a triples hitting team your goaL? A team with good pitching and defense but poor hitting? You can do whatever you want... But you can't have it all.
We're going to do a $60m league league with just a few twists.
- Only 1930-2012 players
- Only one player per season ("season soup")
- No DH, No WW
- Yes to AAA (below average). Yes to trading (AAA only, please).
- No clones, no live play
- Injuries on
- MINIMUM 1250 IP and 4500 PA. Both are per 162. Keeping fatigue to a minimum... We will all have those same limits, so we're all building teams with the same restrictions.
Who wants to play?
NOTE: When building a team, I found it very reasonable to have fewer than 5000 PA/162 from my hitters, with help from below average AAA.. I reduced the limit to 4500 on 10/7. Let me know if you have any objections.
