Field Report from League 3B ($90 mil twist)
There's an interesting battle brewing over in 3B between two storied franchises: the Indians and the Dodgers. Five teams were chosen 6+ times, among them 3 Dodger teams and a Naps squad. 3B wound up with more of them than any other division.
In total, there are 6 Dodger franchise teams ('30, '64, '92, '92, '08, '08) and 5 Indians franchise teams ('09, '10, '10, '10, '00). That last Cleveland squad is 2000, not 1900. For absolutely no reason, I find this a fascinating mini-competition. Which franchise will twist better and reign supreme?
The very early results by franchise show a clear pattern:
Mets 10-6
Dodgers 28-20
Indians 23-17
Red Sox 4-4
White Sox 8-8
Braves 7-9
Orioles 7-9
Yankees 7-17 (hah!)
Kansas City 2-6
For the Mets, both teams are the very popular '93 iteration. Them and the Indians/Dodgers are the only ones over .500 so far. Those three franchises represent just over half the league's teams and are clearly dominating. I look forward to seeing how this develops. My dog in this fight is the '64 Dodger squad, my only >.500 team at the moment.
