What a disappointing showing by me in this tournament.  I started 0-6 and have failed to reach .500 at any point during the tournament.  On three separate occasions, I got to 2 games under.  All three times, I went 1-5 on the very next session.  I especially hate the pm2 session (20-28).

Of course, getting to .500 isn't exactly something to get excited about.
For some of us, getting to .500 IS something to get excited about in this tournament....

Absolutely!  I'll be thrilled, and frankly shocked, if my overall record can remain above .500 for the duration.  I have no delusions of making the next round.

Of course if I was running the tournament, I guess I'd feel differently, so schwarze's comments are very understandable. ;)

Was getting back into contention...until a lovely 3-15 today....with all 3 wins coming from my two crappy teams.

The other 4 teams...a combined 30 games over .500....went 0-12.  Sigh.

38 teams with over 200 wins at this point....we are 195-195

first time at .500!

REFUSE TO LOSE!

ranked 83rd going in so ....who knows?

5-1 two of the last three cycles ... and one team still in first. Totally not a disaster. (Although the $90M team being terrible and the $120M team just being poor was not what I expected.)

it is for me!

My $90m team was my favorite. I thought they would win 100 games. They started 22-12 but then went on an 11 game losing streak. They have hovered around .500 ever since. Anyone else have what looked like a great team suddenly tank and become bad?

A couple oddities. My $70M looked like it would lose 120 games early on but has clawed back to almost .500. My 80M team is the big loser. Turk was the wrong way to go I guess. My $90M was also my favourite and best shot. They started slow but now only 2 games out of the WC. Overall, my teams are a bit overwhelmed against more experienced owners but at least I am staying ahead of my 96th pre-tourney ranking :)

Ugh.... Three 1-run losses, where I gave up the winning run in the 9th, 10th and 11th innings.

Well, this was probably my best overall showing in the tournament since...I dunno...2010?  But it could have been much much better with a few breaks.

My 100M and 110M made the playoffs.
My 70M had the 3rd best record in the league...but both teams ahead of me were in my division.  Missed postseason by 5 games.
My 80M missed the postseason by 3 games
My 90M missed the postseason by 2 games.
My 120M missed the postseason by 2 games.

So 12 games were the difference between my having 6 teams in the postseason, and a more or less guaranteed spot in round 2, and where I sat today, which will likely finish outside the cage.  This is why this tournament is so awesome...because you can put together 6 pretty good teams and still not be good enough, since the competition is so tough. Great job as always schwarze, and congrats to everyone who moves on to round 2.

Trailing 4-1 entering the bottom of the 9th, Game 5 of the Division Series...

WC3 1914 Whale Vomit

A.Wilson crushes a solo homer to LF.
- F.Beck hits an infield single to 1B.

DP R.Zeider takes ball four.

DP J.Tinker hits an infield single to 3B.

(So now we are down 4-2 in the bottom of the 9th but we have bases loaded and no outs...)

DP C.Hendrix grounds into a 5-2-3 double play.

(Yeah, that is my starting pitcher, left in to bat, who grounds into a double play. We go on to lose the game and the series. Nice JOB sim!)

(And by the way, my starting pitcher exceeded his maximum pitch limit... just sayin')

Game 5 in the $120M division series, bottom of the 13th with a 9-7 lead. Rick Helling on the mound since 2 out in the 11th and he started at 89%. In the bullpen, Closer A Erik Gagne at 100% waits for his opportunity to advance the team to the League Championship. 1st batter, Rogers Hornsby - Line drive solo HR to RCF. 9-8 lead. Gagne chomping at the bit. Manager Dopey Sim appears to be playing on his phone. Next batter, Alex Rodriguez - jacks a line drive solo HR to LCF. 9-9 tie. Gagne is about to lose it. Helling is in tears, looks like his arm is going to fall off. Manager Dopey Sim is updating his Facebook profile with a new selfie. 3rd batter, Babe Ruth - smacks a line drive into the right field corner for an INSIDE THE PARK HR!

Seriously???

one thing that surprised me was the non factor pitching fatigue seemed to play in that league. i had way too many innings which hurt my offensive production but found myself many times going against 80% and below pitchers and unable to get a hit off of them while my 100% pitchers were getting hit around. and its not like my hitters were seriuosly fatigued. most of the time my starters were at 99-100%

One of the major issues with the sim in my opinion.
