Rule V Leg #40 Draft Thread Topic

I had the Red Sox quite a while back and finished 79-83 with them.  I don't remember too much about that team, except that I drafted Don Mattingly in hopes of using Fenway's doubles prowess.  A move that didn't work.  I know I had Pedro and Clemens, but can't remember about Lowe.  That was season 26 according to the Rule V History thread.

RedSox record in this theme is surprisingly low they must be underpeformers. Ellsbury would've been on my team but not a top choice. glad Lynn made it through I almost protected him instead of Lowe who I don't liike much. really surprised to get Morgan.

I would have taken Lynn if he fell to me
I hope shaybee doesn't wait until 5:29 to pick he's on the left coast right?

it's a tough division, too. not uncommon to have two 90-win or three 85-win teams in the AL East between BOS, NYY, BAL, TOR.

Yeah, I think he's a Seattle guy.  He should be along pretty soon.

Season 22, the Red Sox were named "'Big Like A Pickle" (79-83).  The Orioles were called "'Stay Off The Roof Doc!" (82-80).

Of course, "Big Like a Pickle" = "Red Sox."  I should have known.  Thanks, schwarze.

Sorry for the hold-up guys (and yes, I am a Seattle guy - going to the Safe tonight in fact!)  I'm still trying to figure out how leaving both Morgan and Ripken unprotected was more baffling than Marichal - I'll take Dave Righetti - NYY

The potential horror of having to look at Jeff Blausers name in the box score every day makes this an easy pick:

SS  Ozzie Smith St Louis

Ripken has been exposed in the past and honestly has something of an underwhelming history, even if it really doesn't justify exposing him imo.

I completely missed that Morgan was even exposed until rbow drafted him.

I know, from experience, about Ripken's iffy peformance, but it was a rather major hole I needed to fill.  He can't be worse than Orlando Cabrera, right?  (I just jinxed myself).

Since I didn't even look at 2B I also didn't realize Morgan was available.
