Nick was the greatest Golfer and so an argument could be made that he was the greatest athelete.

It isnt like he called the Miami Basketball team the Miami Heats...That would really be funny!

If some network did the greatest atheletes of the 20th Centrury and Jack was in the top 10 would that be outrageous? 

This is what I am saying about the current pop culture state. Romney is portrayed as stiff and mean no matter what he does, Obama is portrayed as kind and smart no matter what.

yes, I am saying that calling the greatest golfer the greatest athlete is not defensible by any metric you would care to use....speed, strength, endurance, athleticism, etc.

Is Phil Mickleson a great golfer? Absolutely...a great athlete? uh, no.  Golfers have great skill. Some are good athletes....Tiger for example. But part of a discussion on the greatest athlete of all time? No way.

Quick list of better athletes...Jordan, Michael Phelps, Jim Thorpe, Wilt Chamberlain, any world class decathalete, Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Jackie Robinson, an unjuiced Lance Armstrong, Jackie Joyner Kersey.

But can they play golf?
