And this isnt about unions. This is an econ 101 class.

If you are making a small profit margin and you are in a very competitive industry and cannot raise your prices and a new cost comes along you need to cut costs somewhere else.

So they offered the unions a way to save all the jobs, and they decided against it.

And the company did the only thing it could. It closed an unprofitable division.

This isnt about union busting or evil rich men. This is a simple math problem!

Actually the Execs were willing to take a pay cut.

Sorry but making anyone making more money than a street performer a villian isnt going to work this time.

"As the company was preparing to file for bankruptcy earlier this year, the then CEO of Hostess was awarded a 300 percent raise (from approximately $750,000 to $2,550,000) and at least nine other top executives of the company received massive pay raises. One such executive received a pay increase from $500,000 to $900,000 and another received one taking his salary from $375,000 to $656,256."

Hey about THIS math?

yep, it's only because of the unions.
