A game the rest of the world likes more than we do. Dont know why.

A game that suddenly was played by a large number of kids in the 90s. Dont know why, but I do have a theory.

you don't know why the rest of the world might like something you do not? Its called opinions and or taste.  Everyone has their own.  Believe it or not, some of them may not match your tastes or opinions.  Doesn't make them any more or less valid.

Wow...Jump on a guy much?

All I said is that I do not know why they like it more than we do.

It was always a bit of a mystery to me that we grew up loving baseball and they grew up loving soccer. Why?

because they are socialists, and you are freedom loving apple pie eating flag waving Americans!

This post (by swamp, go figure) is the only post on this thread that is worth it.  There is no way a thread on soccer should be 7 pages long.  Unless it is made up of pics like this.

I think that socialists spread soccer in America.

I cannot support that overseas.

There seems to be a genuine grass roots love of soccer in Europe, Latin America and Africa.

I really do not know why one group of people loves something and another group loves something else.

And it doesnt really matter, or change my feelings for the spread of soccer in America.

I still don't see what the socialists have to gain by spreading soccer in the U.S>

you have to accept a few things for it to make sense...

1 Soccer is viewed as a more "World" sport and a less American Sport.

2 The left feels that sports like football that is viewed by some on the left as an allegory of War and Baseball that is perceived as representing traditional American values is a threat to their multi-cultural one world government view.

Now it all makes sense right?

Even if we accept those as true...what does the left have to gain by encouraging kids to play soccer?

You said most kids don't play soccer as adults. A kid who is involved in sports as a child is much more likely to be a sports fan as an adult, meaning the spread of soccer is probably creating MORE football and baseball fans.

Is that actually true?

Do young baseball players grow up to like Basketball and hockey more than the population in General?

I dont think crossover fans are created in numbers greater than people in general.

as much sense as most of what you post.  I'll leave you to interpret that as you see fit.

Personally I've never known anyone on the left to state either one of those things you said about baseball and football.

Wait...the one world government is a leftist plot?  I thought it was one of those hare-brained right wing wacko fears.  But then I can't really rely on you to get anything straight.

Are you saying that something cannot be a leftist plot -and- a right wing waco fear?

I do not understand how they can be mutually exclusive.

I don't understand how you can continually come up with this crap
