I assume Rush will not appear on this list because you've already listened to each of their albums hundreds of times already.

Sure, I will. Some of those were suggestions, some on top 500 lists where I went "Who?" (Wire), some from hearing a smippet from Sirius XM, some absorbed from my kids.

I wasn't going to provide fascinating commentary, but short synopsis is, The Jam have been the best listen so far, Velvet Underground the worst (and sorry, Nico sounds like Natasha Fatale from Dudley Do Right) and Fairport Convention the most pleasant surprise.

Hey Death. Heres a couple suggestion if you don't mind;

The Cult - Electric
Kopec - White Collar Lies
The Tragically Hip - Fully Complete
REM - Automatic For The People

"Fairport Convention the most pleasant surprise."

There's a reason Sandy Denny was the only woman to appear on a Led Zep album.
'Liege and Lief' was a very influential album back in the day.  Might want to try an early Steeleye Span compilation as well.
