 Florida 37;  Penn St. 24
 Mississippi St. 52; Michigan 14
 Alabama 49; Michigan St. 7

Northwestern lost to Texas Tech today as well

Wisconsin is still playing vs. Texas Christian

It was redemption for the SEC which had 3 teams (Tennessee, Georgia, and So. Carolina) lose in the last 2 days

It's funny to me that  there are actually some people out there that actually believe that the Big Ten is better than the SEC...and I've lived in Big Ten country all my life.

MWC 4-1 this year in bowl games.

It would have been a good conference had BSU joined, Utah stayed, BYU stayed, TCU stayed, and wyoming or new mexico got kicked out.  Now it will be the second coming of the 16 team WAC

Problem with kicking out UNM is you're probably losing the best basketball team in the conference that way.

So, which division of the new Big Ten are these teams going to play in: Legends, Leaders, or Losers?
1/1/2011 9:08 PM
The Rust Belt division will consist of teams from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The remaining teams from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska will be part of the Dairy Air division.

Spending New Years with the Michigan inlaws as "their teams" were getting shelled by a collective 101-21 made for an interesting start to 2011.

As a lifelong U of M fan, I'm terribly conflicted with the Ark/OSU game.  Do I root for the Big 10 to save some face and finish up a not horrendous 3-5?  Nope, I root for Ryan Mallett to beat OSU before Rich Rod.

Also, that bullpoop PI call against Wisc on a guy the ball wasn't even thrown to at the beginning of the game decided the game.

Can we count Nebraska with the Big 10 tally?  They lost 19-7 to Washington, after beating them 56-21 in September

Can we count the Nebraska game as a UFO encounter? "I saw....something....but I'm not really sure what it was..."

I was as disappointed over that game as I was anything under the god-awful mistake that was He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named coaching in Lincoln. Hey Pitt fans, how's that Steve Pederson coaching search process working out for you?

Props to Washington for playing that game with heart and having a much better defense the second time around. Huge letdown as a Husker fan and very glad the wife and I decided against shelling out the money to travel to the bowl game.

buckeyes and wisconsin are both respectively better teams than their opponents, strictly in terms of pro talent. if osu loses again, i gotta think there's some kind of curse. mallett is a great college player in that system, but i see him as an nfl bust a la joey harrington. tcu probably doesn't have 3 players on that team that will make nfl rosters in 2011. besides those two, all of the other big ten teams in january were simply over-matched. whoever thought they'd see the day when we were the best basketball conference in the country and the laughingstock of football?

With 6 teams in the top 15, the Big East can argue that they're the best basketball conference this season. Currently, the Big East RPI is #1 at .5942. The Big 10 is #2 at .5766.  The Big East has the #2 SOS; the Big 10 is #4.
