congrats on being the 4th ever in the 20+ club!! i am just at 20 myself, and with my 1 team to your 7, im sure you will pass me in no time :) wow, i can't believe you have 263 seasons already! hmm, i didn't realize i also broke 200, looks like about 208. damn thats a lot of seasons. i knew someone would catch me soon, between you, acn, and one other guy all being so far up there and still winning titles at a great clip. no surprise it was you :) i think the next milestone is ~25, where lostmyth retired. that shouldn't take you too long, i suppose =)
Tempted to drop down to D3 and join the NC race.

I've got five D3 teams, I bet I'm doing great in this race. . . oh. 19 more and I can make the 20+ club!

I've been playing this game for several years now (mainly on another username) and my results have kind of flat lined.

I do very well in Conference play and then lose in the first round of the NT. I think my combined PT/NT record between different usernames is somewhere in the realm of like 7-35.  I decided today (after going 0-2 in post season play this morning) that I'm ready to make some changes and go from there.  This was super helpful.

I'll be implementing some of your suggestions from the OP.

When aejones speaks, us mere mortals simply listen and learn.

New Coaches who are serious about this game should add this thread as their favorite.
This is SO freaking true! And it's especially applicable now.

I have 6 National titles in HD. While I'm probably not considered a top-tier coach due to my success, I've been pretty successful for the most part, and would most likely be in that second-tier of coaches who aren't elite, but make deep tourney runs here and there.

Anyway, even with my experience, I consistently refer back to this thread. Good stuff!

This should be required reading for D2/D3 coaches--particularly ones that think they know everything already and try to lecture and hector people who try to help them.

+1 for using "hector" as a verb

Glad you liked it! Wish I could get the one guy over hear to read this. He'd probably talk about how "naïve" and "stupid" Aejones is, though, so maybe not.
