Rare Opportunity - UNC and BC at B- prestige Topic

rare opportunity in Naismith to get the UNC or BC job while both are open and at B- prestige.  Rosters have good players.  UNC had a human coach until this prior season.......come and gettem if you want a top program available at the best time to grab it

nobody should apply to UNC-- it's a crappy program, and you'll get worked over in recruiting by duke, wake, and even state. also because I applied, and I really really want it. :)

This highlights how terrible the firing system is. 21 seasons, 2 NT wins at an elite. He had an elite locked down with this record.

Did he get fired? Is that why it's open?
11/25/2012 12:29 PM
No, he didn't renew.

I don't know how many times it has been said... But they need to fix the firing logic.

It's diametrically opposed to the business interests of the company. You don't fire paying customers!!

What they should consider doing is tightening up the firing logic (to make firings much more rapid), while also giving fired coaches 1-2 free seasons. That way, it would become pretty normal to get fired, good jobs would open up more often, and there would be a free gift to take the sting out. Would make the game better for everyone.

This is a great idea.

+1 on the more firings but free seasons with them

I agree - a free season or two would help keep the coached hooked (good for the business side) but ramping up firings would help the game stay fresh and fair for all.

At UNC the furthest that coach is getting is year 3, unless the roster is promising but young. Then after year 5 he would have been gone for sure.
