Which is a more positive message? Topic

Hey coach, your scholarship offer really means a lot to me. I can see myself at Queens next season. But, another school is promising me a way to make my own name for myself. That's awfully appealing. I just can't decide yet.

OR

Hey Coach, I really love your program, but I feel like I need to give each program my full attention before I make my decision. I can't say yes right now. Sorry.

Agreed.  I just had those exact messages come up today actually.  I got message #2 at a time when I was on the list with 2 other schools and it was unlikely I was ahead.  Then I got message #1 after dropping a couple CVs and showing up alone on the list.

I was going to say that #1 was ahead, #2 was behind but wasn't 100% sure. Well now I know.
