recruiting against a sim Topic

From what I remember sims use their cash up front and aren't hampered by location.  Any idea on how strong they go after guys out the gate or do you just have to feel it out?

there is no exact amount its a recruit by recruit basis

If you look at the FSS, at 2:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., at the bottom of the page,  it'll tell you how strongly they want the recruit.

A ballpark estimate is that they spend about one schollarships worth of cash on each recruit.

At D1 if you have a prestige advantage it's easy to knock them off, I have noticed it's progressively harder at the lower levels.

Also if I'm not mistaken the distance is irrelevant. Anyone know what the distance of each recruit is for a sim? I thought I read somewhere it was 200-something.

I think it is 190.

You can always knock off a sim...provided you have and are willing to commit enough recruiting money.

If FSS says he's "a high priority" or the sim school "is very tight" with the recruit, you'll need to spend a significant amount to beat the sim. Start with scouting trips for ab it so the guy will take your home visits or campus visits and then prepare to keep offering those until you get a scholarship message indicating you are even with or ahead of the sim (it can take some time and a lot of money).

If FSS doesn't say those things above or something similar, it will take less spending to get the job done, but still more than if the sim wasn't on him.

Actually, I think it's 220 (as you may know there is a big price difference between the two distances).

Is it really?  I don't even know where to look to check that.

Can a D-3 human team knock off a D-2 sim for a prospect or is it foolish to go after them?

Depends on the circumstances, rupe, but yes it can be done.

Say I have $3,900 for one scholarship going against a D-2 sim with a high priority on a prospect. The advantage I hold is that I am local and the sim in of distance. There is no priority for proximity though.

The distance of the sim is completely irrelevant here.  Yes, you can knock D2 sims off at D3.  But if the WOTS says "high priority" and you only have $3,900 you're going to have a really tough time getting ahead of simmy, even if you're only 10 miles from the kid.  And it's basically impossible if you have to pull the kid down first, as you'll have to spend at least $1,700 just for the pulldown.

From the WIS knowledgebase..."Also, AI-controlled schools recruiting efforts are the equivalent to being roughly 200 miles from the recruit regardless of actual distance."
