people are just gonna stop answering you, colonels. without commenting on the actual point itself, why are you so combative with those trying to help you out? you were seeking information - metsmax was nice enough to provide that information. he didnt disagree with you or pass judgement on yuor point of view. merely, he offered the historical perspective you specifically requested. and then you go and belittle his post, and jump on him like he tore your point of view apart.

the sad reality is you use these "requests for information" as an excuse to get up on your soapbox. you didn't care what the answer was, you just want people to go along with your point of view. if you want to debate an issue, thats fine - but baiting people with a legitimate sounding question just so you can engage them in a one sided argument is totally retarded. and pretty childish, too. its no way to act towards someone who, in good faith, tries to help you out with an answer to your question.

on a related note, you really should consider trying to be more open minded. being closed minded just causes you to learn inefficiently, which causes you to fall further and further behind your peers, as you go through life. nobody even disagreed with you here, at least as of your replies to mets - so who are you arguing with!?!? for someone who always carries on about how others dont even consider your point of view, how people should give your thoughts the time of day instead of just disagreeing because its you... it sure is hypocritical to act this way! take a moment to consider how closed mined and immature one has to be to aggressively reject alternate viewpoints, when no alternate viewpoints have even been suggested...
Mets went in with this "once upon a time" bullshit...gtfo

and hey, if you want to keep taking this off track and not discuss the issue at hand, fine...I'm game for whatever dice-thrower you're rolling out.  I take offense because people act like/think I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, when in fact, the opposite is true.

pardon me?

I told you the history.  I didnt zing you or criticize you.

colonel, if you want to start a debate, start a debate - but in this thread you have now in multiple posts attacked posters who did not criticize you - who certainly said nothing ad hominem.

I have always thought that you tend to take things too far but that you sometimes make amusing or interesting points.  I do not take kindly to these posts.  Lose the attitude colonel, stop attacking people and work on ideas and knowledge.

You have disappointed me - and you didnt start that high to begin with.  Try to be a more useful poster - amuse or enlighten or otherwise make reading what you write worthwhile.

So as you know, I have 11 open 'ships at ASSU, and I'm just curious why there's a limit on scholly scratch for only 6 players?  Seems like a bit of an overkill to the superclass thing, but at least give me cash for 7-9 scholarships.  This just really doesn't make sense and it's arguably un(der)fair to those with 6+ ships to fill.

Post.

the original post in the thread - emphasis on what was asked:

"I am just curious why"

and yet, the poster describes an answer to the question as a "zing" - odd - why ask if not interested in answers.....you want answers?  you cant handle the answers....ooops, channelling Jessup
12/25/2013 11:40 PM
and then the original poster says

"I'm aware how things work, I'm just saying that **** needs to change."

hmm, thread begins with curious why, then told why, then the poster says dont give me that answer, I know that answer, it is insulting to me to give me that answer, I know the answer, I am talking about how it needs to change.....

poster somewhat disconnected from normal flow of logic and the use of the English language.....too much eggnog?  too much rum in the eggnog?

and in conclusion, please note that I have not at any point in this thread expressed a view on this rule.  I am not doing so.  I provided an answer that was requested, tried to explain it and now am making a point of pointing out the absurdity in the original poster's approach to this discussion.

No view from me on 6 schollie or 6 members of a class limits.  But, I dont take well to be accused of doing things I have not done, especially by the likes of colonel.

good luck with those 11 openings - there are ways to fill them and create a very nice class structure.  But that would be another topic, a different question.

So you're done, right?  No more mindless BS?

If you got money for 11 and then took 4 walkons and spent the extra on 6 freshman and 1 JUCO wouldn't you then get money for those 4 walkons again next season?

once upon a time" seemed apt on Christmas.  Get the spirit. And come up with better answers colonel.

My posts "went on" - no, they were short.

About "superclasses that I already knew about" - then why did you ask?

Sorry, colonel, dont accuse me of bullshit if you cant back it up.  You have failed.  Your claim now that I said ANYTHING in the nature of a zing or demeaning is simply hollow.

"Mindless BS" - that seems to me to be posted from one particular poster in this thread - and it aint me.

It seems like the reason would be to limit carryover money. Say you're at d2. If you walked into a situation with 12 open ships you'd have 60k plus postseason money. Now let's say you are like me and are fairly conservative with funds. You use the postseason funds to scout and fill 12 spots for $24k. You also sign 2 1yr guys. So next season you have 9k in rollover + postseason funds + 10k from the 2 opening scholarships. Doesn't 20+k seem excessive for 2 d2 scholarships? You'll be ridiculously unlikely to lose a battle vs anyone on your level. As is, even the most conservative recruiters will have 4-5k less in rollover than a coach in this scenario. People here once made fun of me bc I started a thread about how the game determined who won the tip, but at least that was an instance that occurred every game. The issue you're describing can happen a maximum of one time during your stay at a school. It's just not worth getting worked up over.

So having 0 serviceable players on ur team and getting only the amount of money to recruit 6 guys, with 11 spots is fair right? Whether it happens one time or a million, its ridiculous and unfair...or are u willing to give up 40+% of ur bankroll to even the playing field

Its my prerogative to do so...how would that be any different than having 6 open ships and only signing 2 players? I bring up that scenario because they get a full portion of cash while an 11 spot only gets like 60 percent of its share.
