After I get embarrassed this season someone needs to advise me of the strategy in basketball sim.  I coached basketball at various levels for 35+ years and putting a team together here is hard.  I am clueless. Baseball sim appears easier.  The 2 worst things of coaching in real life is cutting kids and the final game of season because most times it ends with an l.

If your wanting to improve there are several helpful threads-

Go to 'Sim League Basketball' - (of course), then chose
'Sim League Basketball' - it is second option down, and just above Classifieds.

"Help for Beginners" is a very good series of comments by experienced owners.

Once your there , ncmusician provides 3 or 4 links to other good threads of rhetoric. -
There are a lot of theories and insight into the inner workings of the sim.

An additional quality thread" (you need to expand time frame with the drop down window to include 6 months)
"How Can I assist" has a lot of quality theories.

the search windows -

this sounds simple, and it is - but until you are able to fully filter and search efficiently, the whole exercise is unwieldy-

the above referenced threads will give you an idea of what your looking for, then the search windows help you find it.

to me, the worst part is parental interference - and administrative politics

To me, this SIM is the greatest thing since sliced bread -

I get to choose any player to ever play professionally and build and construct a team -
(according of course to the theme)
then test my acumen against other like minded basketball nerds

I agree with you about parents.  Evidence of that took place years ago.  We won a title missing our star player before season.  Players made a Disney run to title beating
division 1 athletes along the way.  The staff was let go at end of season because of politics.  Hence, I made connection with wis and league play.
