It'll be interesting to see what Stokes does in this league.  I had him on my team in a progressive league that initially included players from the early '50s to the mid-'60s.  He does rack up the boards and helps with assists, which is huge given the time parameters.  His shooting is beyond toxic, though, and it's not like he has the usg% of a Camby or Big Ben.

ain't it da truth

scud:
jkaye and I traded teams - I am now the Connie Hawkins Lenny Wilkins team -

and he is now the Jerry Lucas team with the #9 slot.

in selecting Wilkins there - I had one of the hardest times deciding on a single pick ever -
usually in WIS drafts I see a guy or two a few picks ahead,
and sit there with my fingers crossed that one of 'my guys' will fall to me...

tonight - there were 4 guys I kept jumping between -
I had two other guys typed in the forum response box, before changing my mind -
It took me two hours of comparing and contrasting and looking what might be there on my next pick-
finally I chickened out and selected based on positional scarcity....
I pray I get a decent guy in the third

I'm thinking aside from Wilt and a few of the other 'can't miss' picks -
this may be a topsy turvy wide open ordeal...

this draft is loaded with boardmen who foul and turn the ball over. they also cannot oreb a damn. guards suck because their dime rates suck. fg% is at a premium. this was the era of: white men can't jump. i got one of those guys on my team already! :)

wilt and russell... men amongst boys

I've had two emails asking why I traded teams-

two reasons really -
First - I had Jerry Lucas in the DDL 2 years ago - and got creamed, & I had Magic.
this is a different animal - I know, but I really do not like Lucas, but had a hard time passing on him at 9
confusing logic I admit....

second-
the Pacific is loaded with talent and high draft picks
1-Wilt, 7-Jabbar 3- Jerry West 17- Mel Daniels...
I'd be in a perpetual catch up mode and looking to close gap would be harder and harder as the draft unfolded

new div. has #10 -W.Reed, 19-Bill Bridges, 12 -havlicek, 15 E.Hayes ... these are all good players -
but I feel like Id rather have Connie 'the Hawk Hawkins' with this group than have Jerry Lucas in with the Pacific group.....

I'm part coward I guess....

Cmcafeeky:  Sorry to burst bubble but I don't believe we are actually trading divisions.  See smokey's post in other thread.

We traded our picks but not the division slots. It's not a huge deal to me, but if you think about it, there's really no logic for our teams to actually change divisions just because we traded players...

great pick for rub... surprised to see flynn robinson last as long as he did
12/29/2013 10:27 PM
lavern tart has an effiminate name... does he play like a girl, too? he scores alot. haha anyway, no team seems to stick out as the favorite so far, though eleibowitz is off to a good start. broke my heart to see ken sears go. great player.
