"Elgin & kobe draw a combined 1664fta"

youll be lucky to get 1000 between them

tarheel...i remember that season...i had a really nice jordan squad drafted but had to use lesser seasons of all my guys besides jordan(i know using 01-02 ray allen was one) to get to just under 19000 mins...my guys were fatigued all year...it was awful

It's relative I'll still get more than most. I got 594fta on karl malones 690 rl fta last season. You better hope I don't turn +75% RL FTA on either of these guys.

One more thing, on the last 3 teams I've built my opponent commits considerably more 2 shot vs 1 shot pf's than my team does. No...I won't tell you how I do it.  lol :-}

And how close did Gervin get to RL?

I'm probably going to be floating at around 18640 minutes.  Should I be super worried?

That Elgin team I mentioned - he turned 80% on his fta compared to rl.  720 sim and  896 rl.

But still nowhere close to RL. I'm with DH, you should be happy if you get 1000 combined out of them. And drafting a bunch of FTA is no guarantee you'll shoot a lot more than everyone else. Those guys might shoot a ton (esp because they're high usage) but others on your team won't.

I'm still 100% convinced that FTA's are a product of your team's RL FGA/FTA ratio and your opponent's pf rate. But there is both a floor and a ceiling in the Sim.

Anything less than 19,300 and its a mathematical certainty some of your players will hit fatigue, (and that assumes 0 overtimes). You can get away with 19,100 to 19,300 here IMO if you are willing to burn your scrubs into the ground. My team that won ODL 44 had 3-4 low minute low usage guys in the 80-90% range most of the season. I clinched the division and the bye in game #77 then rested them for games 78-81 going 0-4 because I ran my high usage starters out there way past rec minutes. I basically burnt the extra minutes from the bye at the close of the regular season, Kobe, Allen and Wilt were all mid to low 90's at the very end (but only because of those final games). I had to throw a regualr lineup out there in game 82 to preserve the #1 seed and held on, and all of my guys were recovered by round 2 after the bye.

IMO you can get away with toying with low usage players to balance fatigue with few negative consequences but as MOST of us have learned the hard way, high usage guys over rec minutes are a disaster. I personally think you can get away with about a 10% bump for a given game (I.e. use a 36 mpg guy for 39-40, but even going to 41-42 minutes can introduce some serious nastiness for your primary 36mpg usage guys.

I just swapped my one of my undrafted starters for another player and it makes me saaaaad, I lost about 5% dreb%,  but gained about 8% ast% and 200 minutes.  The defense also went up 3, and the efg% also went up by about 8%.  It's a decent exchange in order to get me to 19145 minutes! sigh...

I've yet to see any sub-19k minute teams have a contender here, but that only covers since around June 2012.
