So what do you gents think, did I screw up my shot with LeBron?

Been dying to use him since the 12-13 season came out

i think you got too cute again nate...are you not using the 2200 min walton?
Before my last pick I was basically forced to use the 24mpg 4-point Walton to avoid the usage penalty, may be able to use the better version now but would need a 4-point SG to round out the team. Westbrook also gives me a very nice boost in the pf/fta battle by driving down my pf rate and giving me an even better team Fga/Fta ratio. Plus my team ast will be in the 80-range for 24mpg and be well above the floor for the other 24mpg.

The only thing that I would quibble with is that the front court defense isn't great.  Otherwise, the team looks like the correct way (usage, reb, ast) to build around LBJ.

I wish my OReb% was better, but overall I kind of (?) like my team.  If I don't make the playoffs, I won't be too surprised; It is my first draft in about a decade.

Good news:  For the first time in several ODLs, I didn't overspend and force myself into hugely crappy bench players that still won't give me enough minutes.  I managed to make Barkley my highest usage guy while staying over 100% cumulativein the SL & managed 100+ dreb% / 60+ ast%.

Bad news:  Fouls & lack of defense.  I have nobody under 56 in my SL, but Kidd is my only 80+ defender.

Optimistic prediction:  50 wins
Realistic prediction:  Mustangs' final ride ends outside the playoffs.

As expected with Bird/Marshall at the 3/4 and not the 2/3, rebounding isn't a strength.  In fact it's probably a weakness. The hope will be to make up for it in other areas. It also may help that most of my usage is on the perimeter, so people may +1 or +2 my team at times. Undrafted bench players will contribute some solid boards, enough to keep us close in that regard, but it will be a struggle at times (with Bird out, I'll have JR and Roy at the 2/3, and those will be some nightmare rebounding lineups - as low as 28/74, potentially even lower if my undrafted 3rd string PG is in). But whenever Bird is in, it at least shouldn't be terrible - about 31/89 in starting lineup.

I like my efficiency a lot. No real weaknesses in the lineup in terms of scoring; Roy has the lowest efg% at a little over 51. 560+ threes, which is a lot for me. Bird and Roy should shoot by far the most FT of anyone else, and both shoot a pretty good percentage. Defense is pretty solid; will usually have 2-3 80+ defenders in game, although a good chunk of my minutes go to guys with 40-55 defense. Bird and Donyell's defensive flexibility will help, though.  Plenty of assists, too, with 70% in the starting lineup. Plenty of usage so shouldn't turn it over much (love Roy's season because of the high usage/low turnover combo). I think we can overcome the rebounding weakness, but don't think I'll be winning 60 again

Close to astonished that Fat Lever wasn't drafted. I won a title with him in an open league, and made ODL playoffs with him....I'm thinking twice but at least once.

And in events entirely unrelated to sim basketball, a friend of mine attended Sci Fi con in Dallas this weekend. And, this is a real friend, sent me pics of all the cosplay chicks attending.

i like both ash's and tar's analysis of their squads... refreshing to hear objectivism once in awhile. neither of those teams scare me too much... however, the owners do, so cannot count either of them out of the dance. no way, no how.

the mins work. 404-3's (40.1%) but wilt misses lots of ft's while the other 4 are in the 80%. i like having 1742 orebs. 2557 dimes are pretty good. t.o.'s a touch high. fouls are ok at 1278. the efg% is nice. but i am no dh or tarheel, or jhsukow or yard. pacific is gonna be a beast. even though this squad looks good on paper... well, as billy the kid once said: many a slip twix a cup and a lip.

good luck to everyone

Actually feeling confident about my team for once... using low minute stars finally allowed me to grab studly partial seasons for backups

Don't worry guys, after this season, I'll have a 25% chance to get number 1!  Andrew Wiggins, welcome to the team.

Sure went dead in here the last few days. Curious is anyone (progressive etc) has ever seen 12-13 Westbrook used? My only point of reference is the 12-13 DH league from last summer. In that league we was way better than RL, but the player pool was night and day different from what we use here. (Westbrook and Melo are the only 8-point usage 12-13 players, and rebounding in that league was WAY below what we have here, so he was a beast on the boards as well.)

There I also had Kemba who I ran at the point for 36mpg and Westbrook played 12mpg at the point and 24mpg at the two. Won my division and lost in the conference finals.

His low efg and high usage drops him off the radar in this league, but IMO his number's are not that bad if you have the right pieces in place around him:
