Eleib, thanks for eval. Can't argue too much although obviously I think this is a playoff team. We'll find out!
Mainly, I think you are only looking at eFG when evaluating the success of an offense. This team has only a 51.1% eFG, which is low, and probably why you don't like my offense. But my team also has a TOV% of less than 12%, possibly the lowest in the league. I always focus on this little used stat. Of course, I am not the only one and many people have talked about TOV%.. but in these drafts, eFG gets thrown around so much, you'd think people were getting shots off every possession, as opposed to FT's and TOV's coming into play. Perhaps its because FG's are more reliably predicted in the SIM than FT's (which are always lower than IRL) and TOV's (which are always higher than in IRL). But FT's and TOV's still happen a lot and it just requires understanding how much lower/higher they occur in SIM vs IRL to use the stats correctly. Not trying to lecture anyone ; just saying that the total measure of an offense is really Pts per Use, not eFG%.
The biggest risk is I am using the 95-96 DRob instead of the classic 89-90. The eFG drops from 53.1%-51.7% (and the Def from 100-90), but the 95 version has a 9.8% TOV rate, which is basically MJ-elite level. That should make up for the eFG gap in the seasons. His usage jumps from 26.6% to 28.8% from 89 to 95, allowing me to use DRob/Love to always have a 6pt player at Center and of course funnel more shots to DRob instead of some of my lesser guys. Eleib is also correct I am low on assists (although never below 50% based on the lineup setup), so the 95 DRob gives me a slight bump from 7.7% -10.2% in that category. I think an argument can be made the 95 version is just as good as the 89.
All in all, my team will have 65% Ast in starting lineup, which is hopefully high enough to support the real stregnth of the team - Rebounding. I have 154% CReb starting which is like having 5 Shaq's. Should be interesting. Good luck all, and thanks again steelers and eleib for the hard work!
