Re Complaints About GD's Inconsistency... Topic

Honestly, this should be changed immediately, much like QB rushing was when it was exploited when the travesty that is GD2.0 initially came out.  The best gameplan was to switch your best RB to QB and rush exclusively out of Shotgun.  Funny thing was, he could still pass decently with GI and TCH in the single digits!

I personally think this is f-ing ridiculous and should be corrected immediately.  I'm sorry to the coaches that have learned to game the system, but come on, let's be a little realistic.

@Reid- I do appreciate the kind words. You know I have nothing but respect for you and your help in my early days helped pave the way for what I am doing now. Like I too have said...I would also like to have a lot of the aspects back from what we used to have. Unfortunately we can't...we can only hope norberts GD is much better than what we do have now.

As for your DII argument...I would counter with the this. While Stagg is about 1/3 full, there are guys like gt_deuce, gaheel84, forthofer, mojolad, and ozzball19 to deal with. Warner looks to be about 1/2 full...so I am hardly just playing with myself so to speak!

As for the "hands" issue. Yes it's silly that hands doesn't really mean "You can actually catch the ball"! However...kinda like knowing that a players GI meant zip for your OL in old engine...knowing that hands make little difference in this one is a weapon you can choose to use...or ignore. Yes it does suck...but...when in rome...

I didn't mean to **** you off so bad bhouska hahahha

Just pointing out a giant, glaring flaw in the engine... I do agree that Norbert needs to find this hole in the programming and fix it immediately

Okay, I agree to some extent.  But at some point why don't we just get rid of the titles of the attributes and hope that the ones we have that are high are the ones that make a f*ck.  Right?

Just make it a pure numbers game, recruit the guys with the highest numbers, each coach pick a random number (or heads or tails for that matter), plug it in to this awesome sim, and let er rip.

Or f*ck, for that matter, get rid of the players altogether.  We will get a certain amount of "recruiting" points, we allocate those towards attribute units, the "coach" that spends the most points gets the attribute numbers he wants, plug them in, role the random number generator, tell us who wins.  Sounds good, and simple.

Then we don't have to worry about little things like does the WR actually have high rating in HND's, or is the RB strong enough to even carry his helmet around on his head, or any of the other stupid-a$$ things going on now with this engine.

LOL, it did!  That is F*CKING ridiculous.  Hands not mattering for Wide Receivers!  Really?  That's right?

Ok,  everyone put your 'hands' together for this edification   :)   .
Speaking as one who developed some superb passing teams(check TAMC Hayes; I just left it), hands not meaning squat is absolutely pathetic !!
Who would have guessed when I was practicing my hands and winning NC's that I should have saved my hands points !??  :(
What really bothers me is , if hands don't matter for wr then maybe nothing we practice means squat  ?   Perhaps I should put all my points in punting for all my players ?!

It's funny, I'm so stupid that HND's was actually my primary attribute when recruiting WR's.....and I practice them pretty hard.  WTF is wrong with me?  Don't I know hands aren't important in catching the damn ball?  Stupid.

hands has been my top attribute. What an idiot I have been

Could be the guy is using a conservative gameplan. Short passes, and his WRs don't need great hands to catch, but just use SPD and ELU to get big YAC. His WRs also rush quite a bit.

Please save the excuses.  This is unexplainable, no matter what nonsense you can try to say to make rhyme or reason out of it.

Look at who Morehouse is playing in Bryant...

Any of you engine know-it-alls want to explain how the hell that happens

I'd really love to hear that
Obviously, it is possible because hands don't matter as much as some might think.  lol
I don't know if anyone is claiming to know-it-all, but agree with damauler's viewpoint.  I prefer the old engine over the current one and just pointed out the facts/stats of other coaches.  Even with a decent amount of randomness, there are some guys that must have figured out some aspect of the game.  You said so yourself, "Maybe it's skill... Maybe it's luck"...  I don't actually know, but don't believe that those coaches were lucky that many times.  In a "dumbed down" engine with the removal of nearly all player controls, those coaches still have been fairly consistent in making it to NC title game.

Randomness = Garbage.  I Haven't checked in in a while, but laughed about the NC Team posted a few pages back.   Really laughed when someone tried justifying it, though.

Boy, so the game is either "dumbed down" or so "random" that it is impossible to figure out?  Hmmm....  FWIW, I preferred the previous engine as well, even if I only got to play a few seasons in it, but this one is (now) playable.  Still, very much looking forward to seeing Norbert's update....

It's both lol

Crap. I was on the fence, and wasted a five-pack. Should have left, again...
