cbs had 294 for Brees, which was my scoring, but I am not the official scorer this time. Just in the habit of doing it. I do see that the NFL site has the 279 number though which would lower Brees by 1.

I think you missed an INT as well, because from my calculations Brees should have 16, not 19 like you would have then.  I got my yardage off of ESPN.

Most leagues it is at least Def and ST combined pts against.  The only thing you would really have a case for is the interception returned for a touchdown.  But even then ESPN fantasy leagues count that in the total as well.
  • Fumble recovered in the EZ for a safety
  • A 5 yard return for a TD off a blocked punt (the punt team is considered a part of the offense, since the ball can actually be forwarded out of the formation)
  • A 64 yard fumble returned for a TD.
That's 14 points.
The Charger defense gave up 2 FGs, 2 TDs, and 4 XPs.  That's 21 points.

Yeah, but the challenge clearly said "Out of Sunday's Games (You can't use  Monday Night Game), Send me the best Fantasy Football Team you can"
In fantasy you use defense and special teams as one.  It didn't say create the best real world team.  Just like GD does alot of things that never happens in real football fantasy is the same way.

I could be wrong, but I thought that ESPN fantasy adjusts the DEF scoring at night to reflect when a TD is not a DEF's fault.  That's why DEF numbers commonly go up from the night before when you look on Monday morning.

I believe they changed what was originally a 14 yards foward pass to actually a backward pass that becomes techinally a running play, not passing yardage.

I know ESPN doesn't cause I have complained to them in the past about this issue and as a commish I actually go in an adjust our league scoring b/c we hate it so much.

Oh, ok.  Well, this is just useless bantering, it's up to pola to make the final decision.

In fairness, I play in like 4 fantasy leagues and all of mine don't count defensive and special teams touchdowns against the defense.
10/10/2010 10:01 PM
Just because it says "fantasy football team", don't suppose that everyone knows exactly what all that entails.  Having played exactly one month of the game (this is my first ever year of playing it), I can tell you that I still think "DEF" means just that- what the defense caused and what the defense gave up.
Could be why I'm 1-4 with one of my teams ...

Way to many people can't read or try to make what was written fit into their picks. It said Sundays games and total points scored against your defense. Special teams aren't defense and fumbles and interceptions are applied to the offensive side.

What are you guys arguing about? Look at the final score, that's how many points they gave up. Not difficult.

Thought I might repeat myself, since obviously the message isn't getting across...

only point i was making was that according to the Pop team captain they sent in Crosby as a K and Saints D ; they are listed as having Bironas as the K and the Bears D ; who turned in the picks for the Pop team ; based on awags post he did ; therefore the Pop team score is inaccurate ... NUFF SAID !!!! as far as my point anyway

Just got home gents, adding it up now.... For the record, again, I have NO dog in this fight.... Just doing this for the fun of the game.  My decision is my decision unbeknown of your monikers.

Even with 89 (+6 for Gore), we'd still finish last.  The culprits? Anquon Boldin and the San Diego defense.
