I mean, obviously it is not completely avoidable unless you are a maniac...  but I would say 75% of what I eat is from local butchers, local farmer's markets or home grown.  I try to buy from butcher's where I have some familiarity with the farm and slaughterhouse.  I didn't grow up like that though, so I am still going to get cancer like the rest of you.
I loled

The best lobster roll I ever had was at a McDonalds in Boston. Though I am not sure that the lobster was caught in Boston Harbor. And though the best clam chowder I have ever had was from a street vendor on Fisherman's Wharf in SF, my guess is that the wheat that went into the bread bowl came from somewhere in the Midwest.
Mmm....  the chowder at the wharf when I lived in Monterey was outstanding.  Shocked by the McDonald's comment.

I had Chipotle recently. Where's that rank on your morally superior index of chain restaurants? Five Guys?

And how famous of a chain is Texas Roadhouse? I've enjoyed that place.

Chipotle is disgusting...  I have eaten Five Guys when wasted but I don't eat a lot of meat so I don't go there too often.  Never heard of the last place but places ending in "Roadhouse" don't usually do it for me.
You don't eat much meat and you like shrimp scampi? No wonder your wife left you, you're barely even a man.
I was saying I don't like shrimp scampi.  I don't really like shrimp in general.

I eat fish several times a week if you want to count that.
I don't count fish.

Plus, aren't most fish more contaminated than regular meat?

Definitely not hipster friendly.

I haven't had a good steak in a while.
Don't go to Morton's or Ruth's Chris, because they're chains, and couldn't possibly serve a good meal. Better to take Tommy Boy's advice.
I am sure those places taste great...  I just start to freak myself out when I think about the origins.  My cousin is a nutritional biologist and brainwashed me with too many books and documentaries.

Chipotle brags about getting their stuff from local vendors. I think.
I have no clue about that...

I just think it is awful.

Yeah, but they sell Mr Pibb there. I can't find it elsewhere and it's one of the few sodas I would drink.

Contamination isn't really my fear.  Hormones, antibioitics, unnatural diets and crap like that are what stress me out.

Cue the discussion about how much water everyone drinks a day.

Do you regularly drink soda?

I am not judging people's food by the way.  It certainly is a lot easier to eat the way you guys do than the way I do.

Torcato is robbed of his first win with a 1 day injury. Leonard has a nice game (2 for 3, 2 Rbis)... Woo hits a 3-run shot. Hootie with the 0fer. The Bullpen is shut down... as expected.

The other 25% of the time is when I am drunk or hungover.
Gotta love a health nazi who admits to being drunk or hungover for 75% of his meals.

I like the idea of you touring farms and butcher shops making sure they're worthy of your business though.

It's not like you have a daughter who will get jugs by 8 because of the milk she drinks... Why should you care if you die at 70 or 80? Those years suck anyway.

your math sucks. dmang0 would be disappointed.

I like to think robusk has a fake health inspector badge and he walks around places with a clipboard.

Inverse on that percentage.

I typically rely on people I know who have more time for farm tours than myself.

I am not a proud man.
