Obama: Worst President Ever? Topic

OK, that didn't take long.

The two IUD that HL are objecting to providing prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg.   So, yeah, they do work differently.   The rest, evidently, work in preventing the fetilization of said egg.   There you go.

So, yeah, this isn't the same as refusing to hire a Muslim or a minority.

No one is forcing HL to use an IUD. Why do they get to pick which ones their employees can have?

A third of voters think Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, according to a Quinnipiac University poll.     George W. Bush came in second, with 28 percent naming him as the worst recent president, followed by Richard Nixon with 13 percent.

http://gawker.com/breaking-if-you-conduct-a-poll-made-up-of-73-percent-w-1599205371

"BREAKING: If you conduct a poll made up of 73 percent whites, 61 percent Midwesterners and Southerners, 66 percent non-college grads, 69 percent non-Democrats and 56 percent land-line users, you can get a Politico headline proclaiming Obama the worst president since World War II"
How about the pew polls showing Americans no longer believe america is #1 and the sharp decline in that belief since 2011? Or the Gallup polls showing Americans by in large are less satisfied with their freedoms than they were 7 years ago?

Nvm... I'm sure they have no merit either.
They might. I agree that we have less freedom, just look at the Hobby Lobby decision.
That's an interesting answer... You'd think with gay marriage barriers quickly crumbing, obamacare for everyone, lax illegal immigration, our military coming home, the end of terrorism, the improving job market, etc Americans would feel more 'freedom' to do what they want than ever before. Like Biden said now Americans are free to stay home and cook meals for their families and that's a good thing. Yet the polls are showing differently.

Well, we have to consider the fact that lots of Americans are idiots. Plenty think the government is going to take their guns away and institute sharia law any day now.

They're not being forced to use an IUD, but they are being forced to subsidize a health plan that pays for abortions and plan B pills.

Why should the government be allowed to force them to subsidize something that goes against the religious beliefs?

I don't see the difference between:

HL pays employee. Employee buys IUD for employee.

and

HL pays health insurance company. Health insurance company buys IUD for employee.

Of course you don't see the difference.

Here's the funny thing about you.  You're all about "rights", provided that they're rights that you agree with or subscribe to.  All other "rights" that you don't personally care about are off the board.

You're the biggest hypocrite in these forums.

HL is not objecting to the use of contraception.   They're objecting to the use of contraception that, in their opinion, is similar to abortion.  Abortion is against their religious beliefs.    They do not want to subsidize the use of a contraceptive that violates their belief.

As we've mentioned, there are several types of IUD out there.   Use a different one.  Problem solved.

Yet. It's already started and it's using this decision as the basis.
Yawn.  Get back to me when SCOTUS says it's ok to refuse to hire based on skin color/religion.

Our courts are filled with bullshit cases to be heard.

First off science says the IUD's and morning after pills aren't "abortions", secondly, they again are treating corporations as people.  Wrong in Citizen's United, wrong here.

Wait until you need a blood transfusion but your JW boss decides you can't because it's against their religion...oh wait, that will never happen because they are not "Christians" and the SCOTUS will never allow that.  It's coming, and you will see one religion get preferential treatment over another regarding their beliefs.
That's a lie.

The pill stops the "fertilized egg" from attaching to the uterus. That's abortion. Period.

The crazy thing is that people are acting like "OMG, you've taken away freedom from all the women and set the country back 50 years"

Where is it a constitutional right to have FREE CONTRACEPTIVES anyway?

These women may still go purchase abortion pills if they want to. That right hasn't been taken away.

These women are also not bond slaves who are forced to work for Hobby Lobby.

If I don't like the insurance offered by my employer I am free to go to work for someone who provides a plan that better suits my needs/desires. Why can't these "poor victimized women" do the same?

The "difference" is that if HL pays employee, employee then has the right to spend that money any way they see fit.

If HL pays health insurance company, they (HL) have the right to discontinue using health insurance company and the right to dictate some terms of the policy as the purchaser.
