Who would do a better job of running the USA? Topic

i need 100 man hours to run my business.   I have two 40 hour employees and a part-timer for 20 hours.   No healtcare benefits are offered.  After Obamacare, i have to offer healthcare benefits to the two 40 hour employees or pay a fine.    So I hire a 4th and all 4 now work 25 hours.  Since I run a lawncare service, it's not that big of a deal if the previous 2 full-time employees quit.   I can find someone else who knows how to cut grass and lay sod.  A lot of people are still out of work.
You have less than 50 employees, you are not required to offer heath care.

Bonds/deficit part duex?

Fair enough.   I now need 10,000 man hours to run my national lawn care service.   I add employees and reduce hours to avoid offering health care.

Stupid ******* part 97?

BTW, is the weekend closing in on you too fast?  It's only Thursday.  Please don't hurt your family tonight.

Read the previous posts.   And don't hurt your family tonight.   Just argue on the internet at work until they've gone to bed.

Please answer the question.

You have 250 employees. You are cutting their hours to avoid having to give them health insurance. Did they have health insurance before?

Can't answer?

What do you think is prompting him to cut hours to avoid having to provide health insurance?

Are his employees losing health coverage?

Sounds like it, yes.  What do you think is prompting him to do that?

So he provided health insurance to his employees pre-obamacare. Then the law went into effect, requiring him to do what he was already doing. Because of that, he eliminated the benefit and cut everyone to part time so that he wouldn't have to do what he was already doing?

Does that make sense to you?

Are you aware that Obamacare has made changes to the levels of healthcare coverage that insurers need to provide to be in compliance with the law?
11/21/2013 2:08 PM
I am aware of that.

Are you going to answer my question? Why would an employer take drastic measures (cutting 250 people to part time is drastic) to avoid doing something they already do voluntarily?

I could imagine that an employer might do that if they were operating on a tight margin, and the additional healthcare costs introduced by Obamacare crosses a threshhold in which such "drastic" measures are necessary.
