While it's obvious that no one finds this nearly as interesting as I do, here's an update.
The experimental players:
Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Bingo Pearson Good range, average glove and arm. A misfit for CF/RF and overqualified for LF.

Nieve will cost you 40-50 outs in LF or RF. Pearson with his below rec RF arm will be slightly below average despite his 84 range and his 68 glove will hurt him in CF. However, stick him in LF and he'll produce an extra 70ish outs. Because of this, I believe the converted C goes to RF, where he'll cost your some runs but you can "make up" for that by upgrading LF.
