I could use a third baseman, but I'm worried about his splits and if he's capable of hitting at the major league level.

I wouldnt want to play him at 3B. In Portland having a top notch defense will help out the staff a lot. You could play him at the ML but he wont hit very good, especially in Portland. 

Did a quick look in some of my other worlds. Guys with similar ratings were batting anywhere between .220-270 most with decent HR totals, nothing crazy.

The guy is a minor league HOFer, ML scrub. His defense is not ML 3B worthy and he will be a very poor ML hitter. Guys with splits this low need power in the 90s to be useful MLers, especially in a pitching park like Portland.

.245/.299/.414 is what I have him at, but like the other guys said, his defense isn't 3B worthy with his bat. So unless you can justify his bat at 1B or COF, then I'd find someone else.

+1.  Not even really a useful bench player.
