and the facts are that Mitch is from the Jerry West school of we'll let you know what we're going to do after we've done it - he doesnt talk about what he intends to do
and
if it doesnt feel like you're giving almost too much away then it's probably not an equitable trade and it's probably not going to happen - like I said sweeten the deal around Rondo maybe, but JON? probably why no one but Bosox Bill is talking about it anymore
Actually, the story seemed to indicate that he doesn't say much, but doesn't lie.
Regardless of Rondo's limitations, you really think a 25 y/o all-star PG isn't enough for a 31 y/o all-star PF/C? You don't think the Lakers would be better with Rondo instead of Gasol?
And I really thought you understood that JON was just for salary, he's not actually in there as a useful piece.
"Regardless of Rondo's limitations, you really think a 25 y/o all-star PG isn't enough for a 31 y/o all-star PF/C? You don't think the Lakers would be better with Rondo instead of Gasol?"
yes and yes
let me quote a dyed in the wool boston fan: " I don't care if Gasol is 31 — he's the most skilled big man in the league, he has four or five quality years left, he's under contract through 2014 (same as Pierce), he'll be extra motivated after the trade"
and add that despite what anyone may be saying about him that he's been balling all year long (10 straight double doubles) in a situation where he's sharing attempts with Kobe and Bynum - he immediately becomes the second best (and maybe more like 1b) player on your team
and as for JON's salary? we are so far over the cap that 6m salary savings is just tax money off the books and I dont pull for that kind of team - do you?
