positions and player effectiveness Topic

does player positioning and effectiveness rating have an effect on both offense and defense ?

it's obvious that this is the case on defense, but I'm curious about offense, as well.

e.g., if one chose to go "small" or "big" with a lineup, does this reduce positive attributes like eFG, assist and rebound and increase negative things like turnovers for those players that are "out of position" ?

I would suspect this is the case, but am curious

I think everything is based on % of effectiveness so if you play a guy who is 85% effective at the position he will in theory be operating at 85% of effectiveness in all categories, he will be 85% of a 55% efg shooter for instance, 85% of a 90 drating etc - that's my theory at least

I agree with this.  The only stat that I think is unaffected is usage%.
