Great but not outstanding compared to the charter members and other QB's. One of my QB's threw for almost 8,000 yards in one season at D2 and finished with almost 18000 total with a NC and 4 CC's but it is D2!!!

Lee Hill was never used to pile up stats he just won. I think to truely appreciate him look at his D2 ratings.

With those ratings it looks like he underperformed.

The fact that he didn't start a game in his 5th season raised some questions for me.
6/25/2007 4:08 PM
If I remember he was hurt to start the season, what questions does it raise? He was basically my starting QB for 3 seasons. Game Starts have no bearing on his status as the starting QB. Give me a break. Just forget it and him, what joke. 18-1 (lost in the title game) 19-0 NC, 19-0 NC. Those are the only real numbers that count. He wasn't used to pile on stats as from his ratings prove he clearly could have easliy. He also helped me win the big games. I believe the other QB inducted found a way to lose the big game each season, but i'm sure he had great stats when it didn't matter. Question that.
I'm done, when a coach says he questions not starting that proves to me this is big joke. At worst it was an injury or depth chart flaw (i don't remember) and he actually did play but I guess that wouldn't matter either.
Again, I'm done, I've made my case you can go back and question why he didn't start or why with his ratings he didn't pile on stats and underachieved. Of course if he did pile on stats he was only D2 and it wouldn't matter. I don't want him in with this type of BS. IF Maddiesdad will honor my request he won't be on another ballot from this point forward.

Chill guy. I'm not voting on anyone. I've got QB's who have won more NC's and had better numbers. I didn't even submit them, yet.

Rich,
First and foremost this is nothing personal or anything against Lee Hill in particular. I am just discounting stats on d2 and d3 players. Having coached at that level I know it is much easier for one player to completely dominate the game, especially QBs. This doesn't mean I will never vote for Lee Hill, just felt like some other players were more deserving. I am actually more impressed with some of your d1A qbs

Simmer down Rich. It was a joke. I guess I needed to put some emoticons or "LOL" in my post.

Lee Hill is a great QB at the D2 level and he probably would have been great at the D-1 level. However, I didn't feel he was worthy of inclusion in the Hall. I'm sure we can agree to disagree without getting emotionally charged. Interestingly, it looks like a few other coaches also agreed with my assessment.

He probably bet on games and his tackling sucked. His blocking fundamentals were also horrendous.

Just FYI, there are real life players from DII and DIII that are in both the NFL and CFB HOF. Someone posted that there were not, but they could have meant something else.
6/26/2007 10:07 PM
I didn't say there were not D2 and D3 players in the college HOF, just said it is more rare than normal. There are a lot more D1A guys than all of the other levels combined.

Ballots for the July class will go out this week. Post the stats of any recently graduated players whom you think should be included.

Thank God Lee Hill has been inducted. I was beginning to fear that the Gridiron Dynasty Hall of Fame was going to be the victim of a "suspicious" fire.....
