DIII - Red Recruit Rankings Topic

FYI, I meant to mention this before posting the PG ratings - I've tweaked the forumlas a bit this season to penalize recruits with very poor WE. I think this provides for a more accurate rating. Feel free to post your thoughts.

Quick SG notes/commentary:

- Goucher picks up an absolute stud - rated well above all other SG's.

- Return to normalcy in the top 5, with mostly A prestige school signings. However 6-25 is littered with new coaches/low prestiges. Allen should get a lot more interesting in the coming seasons.

I like the WE factor in there Red. Think that is very important as low WE players simply will not be as good as comparable high WE players and should be penalized. Nice to see I made #6 after I missed out on another guy.

Hey Red, just seeing what you think of my one SG, Brandon Crader. Thought he was a decent signing at the end.

Just to clarify my previous post for those new to the Red Ratings...

Occasionally, an A+ prestige school will sign a pull down that never actually shows on the DIII list of recruits. Because of my primitive, manual data extraction process, I only pull data for DIII signings. This means that players that never show up in the DIII list, but get signed by a DIII school are excluded from my raw data. In these few situations, I need the coach to let me know so that I can update the ratings. This is a fairly rare occurrence - maybe 1-2 per season, but normally these players are top 5-10. Hope that makes sense.

Red, I agree with the WE penalty. It goes back to my arguement/position last year with the Bowdoin/Colorado sitiuation. As far as last years situation, that Colorado guy is like 50 points ahead overall last time I checked.

Interesting...even with a fairly significant WE penalty, Thomas's Arnold Johnson still rates significantly higher than any other SF in DIII. Nice signing kujayhawk.

damn. just outside the top 10! Think PER/LP hurt ole Richard M.

Im just happy Pinegar took the redshirt with ease. My first SF choice got snagged last minute by a DII school. Glad to see he rated fairly well still. Took one walkon though because of that and have 6 freshmen due to come in next year.

That's a pretty good plan B gt2010. Do you have the ratings on the DII guy you lost? I'm curious to see how well he would have rated.
