My Wilt Trip-Dub attempt Topic

It didn't work... he finished the regular season right on 9 apg. I had several other players on the roster with 10+% ast%, so that's part of the issue, but I refused to build a team that wouldn't have a chance.

But I got close.

(I was looking for the old post to bump where we were talking about this, but I couldn't find it).

On the bright side, I did build a winning team out of the deal... very surprised at how good we played over the last half of the season/playoffs.

regular season stats:

Name GP GS Min Pts FG% 3Pt% FT% OReb Reb Ast TO Stl Blk PF
67-68 Wilt Chamberlain 82 82 47.5 23.9 63.1 0 39.7 6.6 19.4 9.0 4.7 1.7 4.4 2.1

sorry for formatting - I don't know where my IE is... it's gone!

playoffs:

Name GP GS Min Pts FG% 3Pt% FT% OReb Reb Ast TO Stl Blk PF
67-68 Wilt Chamberlain 18 18 46.8 25.2 66.5 0 30.0 5.6 17.2 8.6 3.8 1.7 4.2 2.4

has a trip dub ever been done?...and yea it should only count if you also meant for it to be a winning team too

i got kinda close with an oscar led team that got to the finals....finished with plenty of assists but just under 9 rebounds a game

back before the september '08 patch, you could pretty easily average a trip-dub with Oscar.

I'm probably going to try again... I'm going to swap Rodman out for Moses, then one of my wings for someone with a little higher dreb% and less ast%. I'll probably sub out Vince Carter for someone... Rodman was 17/31 with vince 6/8, so with Moses (18/26) I'll try and grab someone with 13% dreb or higher...

Hard to do much when you're spending $13.5 million on one guy, though!

Maybe this would work?

I'm not gonna make a team with less than 50% ast% on the floor... also gonna have more threes than that.

Ok Ash how about this one:

Wilt Chamberlin 67-68 76ers 18.3%

Amare Stoudemire 04-05 Suns 5.4%

Shawn Marion 04-05 Suns 5.8%

Ray Allen 05-06 Sonics 12.2%

Dell Curry 95-96 Hornets 9.3%

Total Assist is 51% plus with Curry, Allen and Marion you have 1400 3pt attempts at a 39 FG%. On top of that you got total stl% at 8.5, decent rebounding and relatively low TOs

I'm close to having what I want. Again, I'll probably fall short of the trip-dub, but I'd rather be close and win than have it and not make the playoffs.

thru 20 games on sim-matchup (meaning both teams running half court) versus various levels of competition, Wilt had 188 assists, or 9.4 a game. That's promising, as I'll be running up-tempo and I'd say at least half of the league will be, too.
2/3/2010 7:01 PM
yah so far everybody's running half court against me. heh. 3 games, 21 assists.
2/7/2010 2:47 AM
Half way through the season, only 9.2 apg. More teams running half court than I'm used to seeing.
