As we prepare to enter the 21st season it has been requested that the FP listings be updated. Over time, and with new owners entering the league, the existing list has become badly outdated. Let's correct this in its own special thread.

(I have reviewed the MLD World thread for the past year. I can't access old league forum posts nor teams' current rosters at this time, so some of my information will be incorrect.)

Once this information is properly up to date, we'll move it into its rightful place at the top of the MLD thread.

FP Rules - a quick refresher:

Skaters with over six seasons of MLD service (796k salary) must retire. Goalies with over 250 minutes TOI must retire, at the end of the season in which they pass that mark.

One exception is allowed per team, and only one at a time - each team may designate a Franchise Player who continues to play past "regular" retirement.

FP skaters play to the end of their 9th season, and must retire before their 10th (approx. 1.7 mil salary). FP goaltenders play till the end of the season in which they exceed 350 minutes TOI.

Where ever an MLD player plays his first game, is the ONLY franchise he is eligible to become an FP for. FPs may not be traded. (Amended - final ruling - May 23 12:30 PM.)

Also please note - if a team does not currently have a player who requires FP status, the team's FP slot may be considered vacant. (Added May 26.)

Can we clarify this again? I think I remember it being stated somewhere that the FP had to play all his games for the team, but not necessarily be actually drafted by the team. For example if a player is acquired as part of a trade (draft pick) or just a trade for a player that was a new draft choice but did not suit up for any league games.
I could be imagining all this though.

You're right, modo21, I don't remember exactly what the ruling ended up being. okp does, I will amend that part as needed.

Yowlers FP is (D) Arch Peterson.

And modo is correct. We had decided that a player aquired as a draft pick counts as eligible for FP status, as long as he never played for another team.

It's a while back, but I believe so too, that's why the rule book says "must have played their entire career" and not firmly says must have been drafted, period.
