Anyone sick of the slow loading banner ad? Topic

The banner ads have been a bit large lately, making me actually wait for the page to load so that they can show me ads.  As a paying customer, I figure it is my privilege to refuse to see these ads.

If you don't have ad blocking, and you use IE, just go to the TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS - SECURITY  then add Ads1.msn.com to the restricted sites folder.

Presto.  No more annoying banner ads that make the page so slow to load.

Glad you guys found it useful...

In more detail, if you have a similar problem in the future, do a view source and look for the URL of the banner ad... Then you can do the same thing to that banner ad as well.

There's also a method to use your hosts file to redirect ads to a dummy file, but that's more advanced.  You can find out how to do that by surfing the web.

Working as a PM on a web site I learn a few things from the developers, and I can occasionally share them if they are not dangerous to my or other sites.
