Selecting Starting Pitchers for a $255 Mill league Topic

After selecting your ballpark, rotation size and desired IP per SP.  What are the 3 to 4 stats and what order are you looking at ?  I can't seem to select more than 1 descent starter.  Any suggestions would be appreciated !

Personally try to avoid caps like that.  At that point you can't afford to make a lot of concessions - the guy can't give up hits, walks, or HRs.  Pedro is really the only exception - his WHIP is so good you live with the HRs.  IF I ever put together a $255 million team I would draft a ton of relief innings and put my starters at 40/45.  Rely on the Eck, Gagne, '08 Rivera, Betancourt, Hoffman, Smoltz, Devine, Northrop, etc. to eat the innings.  Keep in mind that you probably couldn't afford all of those guys at once since you'll need something in the vicinity of 2000+ innings.

You could consider just sorting by $/IP, IP > 70, and just pick the most expensive (weeding out the ones who are really charging you for their bats; almost no pitchers actually hit well enough for that to matter at all against other $255 million pitching).

So I just threw one together just for S's & G's.  I went with '12 Big Train, '09 Matty, 2000 Pedro, '95 Maddux, '16 Schupp, 1888 Elton Chamberlain, '06 Papelbon, '07 Betancourt, '08 Rivera, '06 Nathan, '03 Gagne, '90 Eck, and the 2010 Hong-Chi Kuo.  Would likely let Kuo close.  Like I said, though, I have ZERO experience at this cap level...  And some people would definitely prefer not to use all the bench spots on pitchers.  I feel like I can get backups/PHers into four spots, probably using Jimmie Foxx as a C/1B and an OF and a utility infielder with an uber-PH.

honestly 2000 innings might be on the low side.

don't worry so much about matching your innings so all the guys are the same. i'd run a 4-man with some version of Johnson, Joss08, Maddux95 and maybe Pedro. Just get the best pitchers in the sim. then add another SP or two in the bullpen.

2000 IP is fine.  I usually play $255M leagues with around 1900 IP.

Great advice guys ... but what I was leaning towards was ... ERC+, WHIP#, ets ... these type stats.  What are the first 3-4 you consider and maybe in what order and why ?  Also mostly for $255 moll leagues.

The only three numbers I care about are OAV, HR/9, and BB/9, no matter what the salary cap is for the league.

1750IP is plenty for a neutral park.
