473 days! Wow!

I see 359 days, you're seeing 473?

Yeah, it doesn't work "right" in the forums. I think I saw 337.

I run with $20 million in training and 0 in medical. In 20 some seasons I've had one catastrophic injury to an elite pitching prospect and a 1-2 injuries to BL position players that knocked them back a little.

What I have noticed is -

Most injuries are minimal.

Many of my injuries are to the legs. That doesn't knock back any hitting or pitching ratings. Can effect range and SB obviously, but haven't seen much that made me really cringe.

If I am gonna sign a big FA or draft a player I do keep an eye on health. But veteran FAs or pickups I really don't worry about health as much. As long as it isn't a long term commitment then I can ditch the player if he really gets hurt. And again, I haven't seen many injuries in those cases that really set me back.

I dont mean this to be mean, and it will sound that way, but are there any zero medical owners with a winning record?  And it would take some time to get high health players through a system so ideally I would like to see someone with a large sample size.

5 years later zing!

Thanks for the anecdote sj. Just started $0 Med this season and was starting to have second thoughts after this injury.

Bump for posterity.

Same team as above, now two seasons later and both my #1 and #3 starter got hit with 300 and 180 day injuries this season. 99 and 80 health ratings, respectively. Newson (from a few posts above who was out for 360 days) also had 98 health.

May have to end this $0 Med experiment.

The one owner I knew to run 0 Med (before budgets were hidden) would simply trade away his players after he busted them. His trading partners would likely be looking only at the players' original status (first round pick or high dollar IFA) and not seeing that they were damaged goods.

I've had issues with this player or that but generally no super huge injuries to to players or prospects. And needless to say having an extra 20 million dollars a season has paid off.

As I understand it, the medical does not prevent the major injury only assists in the recovery, correct? So wouldn't training be the more important budget item?

Training is the most important. By far. One thing everyone agrees on is put your training to 20 million and leave it there.
